  • Eu tenho um amplificador desses, eu próprio arrumei ele! Coloquei como válvulas de saídas, 4 6CG6. Funciomaram otimamente, dando um som de excelente qualidade!

  • Nice work and nice room. You probably stay there for hours and hours... rs. If you are interested, I've posted a manley amp demonstration ("Manley Snapper - voice") and your comments will be very appreciated. Best regards.

  • And the Song at 6:01?

  • Midnight STar, Freakazoid

  • double Thanks!

  • Choice bro.... great choice...

  • Whats the song called at 4:07?

  • The title is "Turn the Beat Around" not sure who the artist is, maybe Gloria Estefan?

  • The song is, "Turn the beat around", by "Vicki sue robinson"

  • i have harman kardon A300 i neds work

  • i have 1 harman kardom A300 i ned hellp 2066502036 marcell

  • five *****'s sweet amplifier. These really deviated from the norm didn't they

  • the 7408 is a government military tube no. thier code is significant to them, the most pop. tube he 6gh8A has a sim. no.

  • the 6v6 look orriginal. The voltage doubler with the two caps and a diode was easy to work in instead of those old cans . You change both active and passive caps. most of the old passive caps never went bad. You are doing a full rebuild this way

  • The two 6V6 in the center are original Harman Kardon tubes, actually "7408"....not sure why they have this type number but it is equivalent to 6V6, I checked in a tube manual. The outer two ones are brand new NOS 6V6's. There was arcing in one of the original ones, and one of them was physically broken when I bought the amp so that's why I have to replace those two.

  • Sounds great!!

  • I am curious to see if your A300 produces the same hum-buzz like sound mine experienced before I modified it. Try putting the camera and mic directly into the speaker.

  • Yes there is a very little hiss/buzz if the volume is turned up high with no input signal. However with an audio source playing I don't notice any noise. There is usually enough background noise in the room or surface noise from records that any tube hiss present doesn't bother me.

  • Nice job Chad! Sounds great!

  • great vid...super amp...great job. LOVE it.

  • Good point on those old diodes.

  • great amp.. great set of vids too,, i have a TEAC AS-100 ive been using for many years now, and id like to know,, what the best advice for cleaning the inside of the amp if u haven't opened an amp b4?, besides unplugging it of course. for some reasonon tape mode i can get stereo sound but on source i have to switch to mono on all devices.

  • Hi, it sounds like you may need to clean the controls, sometimes a lot of oxidation builds up on variable resistors and switches especially on Japanese made equipment for some reason. Deoxit is a good brand of control cleaner to use...after unplugging spray a small amount into each switch and variable resistor.

  • i noticed that too with japanese components and also their date code system is hard to read.

  • bounceing off that walls,, got up today and followed your instructions with a friend (who has a good pair of eyes) and it works great.. thanks alot retrochad,, u rock!!

  • Awesome! I like how you kept it looking totally original!

    Sounds great too.

  • Freakazoid... Good song to test the amp with.

As a kid, I'd cruise around in a 1965 Mercury Comet playing that song.

By the way... I still have the Comet 20 years later.

    :)

  • Thanks for your comments, you should make a video of the Comet.

  • I'm still shopping around for a decent camera. I will once I finally buy one.

  • Excellent! Keeping the architectural integrity. Sound great!!

  • wow that sounds great

is true if listion to amp like that with vol crank up . it would take out the out put tubes

    cause someone told me this

  • Thanks for your comments. It's turned up pretty loud in the video so just having it loud won't hurt it...the only thing that would is turning up the volume if the speakers are disconnected, this can cause extremely high voltages to be induced in the output transformers which could damage the transformers and tubes.

  • i have had sound sounds systems

the audio out finales blew .

then took out the audio chips

i have had a lot amps go out on me

i love to play music loud and with lots of bass.

that way i asking . to see if a tube amp would be better then solid state

  • wow, that amp sound great and i have the midnight star lp too. my 1958 magnavox hifi console and my 1959 rca portable stereo has the original silicon diode in it.
