dick clark really lived up to his name on this show, the way he would get all reflective at the end when the contestent didn't make it to the top; offering his own clues and looking like an idiot.
He was the lead announcer for the daytime show's first three TV City seasons, and also did some of the $100G version in 1985. Clark also did fill-in on the $10G version during its fall 1973 visit to Los Angeles.
To answer your question DorvellTStewart, the different bell you're referring to was used during the first month or so of this version. It was also used during the entire 70s run, and sounded like a receptionists' bell. The bell heard here is the standard "G-note" bell.
Nice poetry there by Nipsey; he could always do it in a way that is funny with quick wit at the same time. I wouldn't say it is a weird morning on the Pyramid set Dick; it's just a little streak that will inevitably be broken.
Not exactly. GSN did show the entire first week of Season 2 (Audrey Landers & Charles Siebert), and the first episode of the week that came after at (Markie Post & Richard Kline), only to go all the way back to episode #1.

Audrey and her sister Judy were some of the hottest females of the '80s!
No doubt about that!

I don't remember when this was, but for a while, the $25,000.00 pyramid used a different bell. It was sometime during Dick Clark's hosting period.

What this ever seen on GSN?

"The Poet Laureal of Television, Nipsey Russell", was this the only time he was ever dubbed as that on the show?
BTW, this was also the first week of shows to feature the new ding sounds, as opposed to the old ones, that date back to the New York City era.

LOL at the clue the contestant gave Audrey Landers: "The place that Marco Polo was looking for", "Cuba?".
