do u hook up the spare battery to the amp and how does the altornater charge it do u have to run a wire all the way up to it or sum

there is the main power wire, hooked up from the car battery to my spare battery, then i have an extra power and ground wire from the battery to the amp, lately, my alty has been getting over charged but no technical problems. lol hope i answered your question.
