Oh my god... this song brings back so many memories... I remember watching my brother play the game when I was just a tiny little kid and I was just mesmerized by the game, I loved it, I could never stop pestering my brother to keep on playing it so I could watch the story unravel. And the end.. at the end, I cried. It was such a great game and I remember being sad that it had to end. I think I'm going to replay Kingdom Hearts now.

It did have a good-if not chaotic at times- story, and is literally DRENCHED in loving nostalgia from head to toe. Put together my favorite Disney movies and favorite developers together and you can't help but remeber it as the greatest thing ever.

I liked the first KH game, but the constant talk of light vs dark, vs hearts vs friendship vs love put me right off finishing it, and I haven't touched a KH game since.
Really awesome game, with equally great music, and some of the most off-putting dialog ever written.

While I agree that it was used in easy fights, the Heartless were still very new to you at that point in the game, Sora/You would have been fighting for your very survival at this point. This track mirrors that fear, coming to terms with the unknown.
Mine too. I always creeped and got excited when I heard this theme. Everything became a bigger surprise that way. On the second runthrough it didn't give the same feeling.

I concur; I find Kingdom hearts to be a very lackluster action adventure, especially when the very same company had made so many better ones. That being said, Yoko Shimomura is still one of my favorite composers, even if her tracks sound a bit hollow. KH is no exception.
This game is truly amazing. I could pop this in, play it straiht and still be mezmerised. Hell, i would cry at the end, like i did when i was 10, and i'm 15 now. This game is really magic, and this series is one of the best set of rpgs EVER MADE. PERIOD. :)

Try to level up Sora to get the beserk ability... You may not get to use a combo finisher, but you will rack up FAR more daamage with this technique if you keep pressing attack (make sure your in the air when you do this for a slight increase in mobility and evasion) .And also equip accesories which reduces Dark Damage for his porjectile attacks. And Have at least the Doulbe Jump feature of the Master class and High Jump feature of the Valor class on Normal Sora at it's second level. Good Luck!
As much as I agree with you on the music part generally, KH2 couldn't "Catch the Magic" like KH1. KH1 personally was far more epic, leading into a more interesting storyline. KH2 was about revisiting old problems and solving new problems, while KH1 was about exploring what was completely unknown. Different music for different moods I guess. = D
The KH main series are such great games. Everything you could possibly want in an RPG. How could you not love these games?
And they're actually quite challenging if you think about it. I mean, come on...how many of you out there beat Sephiroth in the Platinum Match in KH1 on the first try?
Took me at least 6-7 tries...and damn did it feel rewarding once I beat him. On top of the world baby.
HA! I never beat him the first 3 times through the game, then I just kept trying my 4th time through, got some decent strategies, and finally beat him after probably at least 20 tries.
I beated sephiroth in kh at lvl 70 and in kh2 at lvl 81. I think he was harder in kh2 because once you healed you had to wait for mp to recover. in kh you could heal 15 times in a row. But some organization members and terra in fm2 and the unknown in fm are even much harder. I tried about 20 times al lvl 99 to beat terra.
In kh2 it's more important to guard and you can use reflect. In kh1 I never guarded because you had dodge roll, so I wasn't used to using it in kh2. The first time I completed the game I didn't use one guard or reflect :P. Now I can beat sephiroth in kh2 at lvl 65 when I tried a few times.
not yet. and it isn't officially KH3, its kingdom hearts birth by sleep, it focuses in the history of terra, ventus and aqua. its just the same as chain of memories, it came after KH but it isnt officially KH2. birth by sleep in facts happens before KH1.
i hate the beggining of the game like 3 fucking ours or maybe 4 before you can play the actual game with sore cos twillight town kinda is an intro of the game but a fucking long 1

I so love the music of this game, because it remembers me a lot of the Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross serie... we know that it's the same team of developers, I think.
They seriously didn't play this song enough in this game. It was awesome. ^^ They only had this for the attack on Destiny Islands and the first time you're at Traverse Town. Then it's gone. I don't even like the real Traverse Town battle song that much.
lol. Right. So it was even a boss song so they had it like, 3 times. I was saying Area wise but whatever. They have different boss songs too and stuff. lol. I keep dying to Leon but whatever. I never cared much for battles you pretty much have to lose. I kind of want to win them though.
There's only a bit of a difference in winning and losing. If you lose, Sora falls over instantly, and Yuffie says "Nice work Leon!" If you win, Sora pants, says something, then falls over and Squall slips.
By the way, I know this from looking it up once. But yeah, I don't remember winning. I wonder what happens if you beat Balio and Sunder in Breath of Fire III. I remember using cheats to do that, and the Prima walkthrough said you can beat them but it's hard. It took too long, and I got level 99 on everyone from fighting one battle. (I thought Easy Level Gain meant it's twice as easy to get a level. lol.) It took too long, so I gave up. I mean I'm super powered and everything! lol.
Also, in Monster Seed, I wonder what would happen if you beat the first battle. That's the most major difference. Well Breath of Fire III's is pretty major too but yeah. I saw their health go down a little in Monster Seed... but maybe they can heal themselves or something, who knows. With cheats though if there is one for being super strong or something, I wonder what would happen... lol. In FFII or whatever, I remember you return to the title screen for winning the first fight. 0_o
Because then there's like no conflict and stuff...
lol. By the way, some other guy named Trendsetter or whatever had this as 90, so I guess both Underworld and him sort of think the same about this song. I like this song... I made like a 25 list and put this as 15 or something. I love this song. ^^ Maybe I would actually put it quite low and if I had a lot more songs to list though... still though, this is one of the best KH battle songs. ^^
Just one more thing to state for now. Who here thinks that the first song in Twilight Town with Roxas was a lot better then the second one with Sora? I think the first one is better. ^^

I pulled out all the stops on that fight, and I still believe I won only by luck on like, the 4th try.
Hardest boss in any Action RPG ive ever played.

HA! I never beat him the first 3 times through the game, then I just kept trying my 4th time through, got some decent strategies, and finally beat him after probably at least 20 tries.
Definitely the hardest boss I've ever faced

I beated sephiroth in kh at lvl 70 and in kh2 at lvl 81. I think he was harder in kh2 because once you healed you had to wait for mp to recover. in kh you could heal 15 times in a row. But some organization members and terra in fm2 and the unknown in fm are even much harder. I tried about 20 times al lvl 99 to beat terra.

I can easily beat Sephiroth in kh2 with my lvl 76 sora.
However, I can't kill him in kh1 with my lvl 89 sora. lol

In kh2 it's more important to guard and you can use reflect. In kh1 I never guarded because you had dodge roll, so I wasn't used to using it in kh2. The first time I completed the game I didn't use one guard or reflect :P. Now I can beat sephiroth in kh2 at lvl 65 when I tried a few times.

Love the music from both KH 1 and 2.
RE: Chain of Memories was alright, same music.
Interested in the upcoming DS and PSP ones, but simply waiting for KH3.

not yet. and it isn't officially KH3, its kingdom hearts birth by sleep, it focuses in the history of terra, ventus and aqua. its just the same as chain of memories, it came after KH but it isnt officially KH2. birth by sleep in facts happens before KH1.

I liked the Hollow Bastion battle music, that was pretty epic, or the boss fight with Riku, or the final battle. Damn I need to play this game again.

I'm glad some kingdom hearts made it on here. KH 1 is way better than 2, but trying to figure out the organization is just a challenge that i love. they are a confusing bunch to me. but i must admit i just loved sora's voice so much more in number 1. great song ... thanks for uploading

I so love the music of this game, because it remembers me a lot of the Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross serie... we know that it's the same team of developers, I think.

They seriously didn't play this song enough in this game. It was awesome. ^^ They only had this for the attack on Destiny Islands and the first time you're at Traverse Town. Then it's gone. I don't even like the real Traverse Town battle song that much.

lol. Right. So it was even a boss song so they had it like, 3 times. I was saying Area wise but whatever. They have different boss songs too and stuff. lol. I keep dying to Leon but whatever. I never cared much for battles you pretty much have to lose. I kind of want to win them though.
There's only a bit of a difference in winning and losing. If you lose, Sora falls over instantly, and Yuffie says "Nice work Leon!" If you win, Sora pants, says something, then falls over and Squall slips.

By the way, I know this from looking it up once. But yeah, I don't remember winning. I wonder what happens if you beat Balio and Sunder in Breath of Fire III. I remember using cheats to do that, and the Prima walkthrough said you can beat them but it's hard. It took too long, and I got level 99 on everyone from fighting one battle. (I thought Easy Level Gain meant it's twice as easy to get a level. lol.) It took too long, so I gave up. I mean I'm super powered and everything! lol.

Also, in Monster Seed, I wonder what would happen if you beat the first battle. That's the most major difference. Well Breath of Fire III's is pretty major too but yeah. I saw their health go down a little in Monster Seed... but maybe they can heal themselves or something, who knows. With cheats though if there is one for being super strong or something, I wonder what would happen... lol. In FFII or whatever, I remember you return to the title screen for winning the first fight. 0_o

lol. By the way, some other guy named Trendsetter or whatever had this as 90, so I guess both Underworld and him sort of think the same about this song. I like this song... I made like a 25 list and put this as 15 or something. I love this song. ^^ Maybe I would actually put it quite low and if I had a lot more songs to list though... still though, this is one of the best KH battle songs. ^^

KH1 was certainly harder than KH2 IMO.
In KH1, I HAD to level-grind to beat a boss.
In KH2, any training at all took away the challenge. The 1st playthrough was fun, but any playthrough after- piece of cake.
