  • erm... when I press Plane... my settings on the side look completely different. and I cant get the plane to be normal to the curve =/

  • hey nice work can you please tell me how to make mine graphics like yours ...u know the reflection and the neat view.......tnxs

  • Thank you!!!

  • What version of SolidWorks is this? On my version, the "surfaces" tab on the top toolbar is NOT there, and I don't know how to get to it. So I'm trying to create a swept cut straight from the helical curve and the straight path, but it's not letting me do it. PLEASE RESPOND ASAP, THANK YOU.

  • thanks a lot

  • There is also a "twist along path" option in the surface sweep option tab. Using the twist along path you can create a curved helix path.

  • Yeah really great video.

  • Great tut, however you can simplify the swept surface by using only the two straight lines (the line drawn through the centre of the screw, and the line perpendicular to this) and changing 'Orientation/Twist Type' in the 'Options' rollout from 'Follow Path' to 'Twist along path'. Change 'Degrees' to 'Turns' and enter a number greater than 0 in the field and voilà

  • easy to do, but hard to find out.

    Great work, very helpful
