  • Great, love it...

  • mann....

  • Saw these lads at Skegness last week at a 60s festival, highlight of the week for me.

  • Great stuff- this is pure, unadulterated pop music. The guys all look old, makes me feel better as I look just the same! I don't think he sounds at all like the original singer though.

  • Nice

  • The lead singer here is Eddie Wheeler who replaced Tony Goulden on guitar and vocals trust me, i ve sang with Eddie in Maidstone Kent.

  • @SlotsNThings No, it's Eddie Wheeler.

  • Super!!!!

  • So, the lead singer is NOT the original? It sure looks and sounds like him?!

  • I'm coming in late on this----so this group does not have the original lead singer? He surely looks like him---with a few years added. I loved this song and still do---thanks for posting!

  • Other than Jay Black and his amazing ability to carry notes and sound so good, this Vanity Fair video is incredible, the vocalist really sounds like the orginal, thanks for sharing!

  • excellent. thx for posting!

  • Not the originals! My Dad's not there!

  • @aro200878 True that... very sad!

  • @aro200878 Which member was your Dad?

  • Love this....old guys rock.....I know this cuz I am one ;0)

  • I like these dudes - old, but good!

Pure music without any raps, hops, trance and other idiotisms.

  • you dudes still look and sound good!

  • @dbes02 I like your attitude but it still sucks to be bald.

  • Good stuff ! Love to hear the oldies by the originals !

  • Vanity Fare---what was 25 in 1970 is now 65 in 2011. Hair today, gone tomorrow in the case of the drummer. I can relate, I am bald as a cucumber and remember when I did have hair---in the 70's I believe.

  • @chuckbuckbobuck On the contrary, what's annoying is that there is SO MUCH hair on that stage!

  • great pop song I like it, good to see the guys going and hopefully making a few quid out of it

  • Good job, mates. I can tell you're still enjoying the music!!

  • excellent, guys!

  • They still rock, and they are still alive and in good health! This brings back memories. I think they sound better now. What year stratocastor is that the lead singer is playing? Thanks for the post!

  • I cant believe it they still sound superb and im going to see them tomorrow night in the 60s show

  • @janemccallum It pains me to think this, but your display of apathy toward this(above) gentleman tells me that as you have no respect for others, you do not have respect for your health, discipline or safety leaves me with the imagination that you are fat, out-of-shape, swill booze, cigarrettes, pot and, perhaps other drugs, to an end where you are going to be in one of those NH beds with someone like you walking in the door....

  • @capie44 ...with no compassion, pulls the sheets out from under you so that the only thing stopping you from rolling to the floor is not your beer-ravaged body, but the handrails that the sick SOB had to put up ONLY bc he didn't want to lose his job injuring you. And laughs as he is changing your bed with you in it as he is too lazy to move you to a comfy-chair. I have seen that. This World is too full of heartless animals caring for NH patients. This was 22 years ago, and I am still insenced!

  • @janemccallum Definately insensitive--ESPECIALLY when you are supposed to be working in a position where you must show a grand amount of compassion for those patients you "care" for with such insensitivity. I used to be a CNA, & I watched dozens of your kind treat these people like nuisances---when I caught them abusing a patient, I turned them in-no probs. It was good to "think beyond myself" and care for other less capable people, & be needed. I feel doubly sorry for people under your "care."

  • Still sound good.

  • saw them live in march 2011 they were brilliant

  • saw them live in march 2011 they were brilliant

  • Totally fab . In tune and feeling groovy too

  • Went to the Silver 60's concert in St Albans last night (20-03-2011) Vanity Fare backed everybody except The Merseybeats. They did a suberb job, some really great guitar playing. I am a musician ( for as long as this band have been together and a bit longer) so I think I know what I am looking at.

  • I am so glad I was born back in 1960, I got to hear great music like this growing up..would not trade our music for junk on the radio today..

  • its in your heart we hear in your voice!!

  • Damn I didn't know skeletons could sing!

  • @Bodebodango Did you forget Grateful Dead's "Shades Of Grey" video?

  • @Lissie771 Thanks for reminding me!

  • @Bodebodango I loved your comment, though....I laughed for about 5 minutes....lol..

  • @Lissie771 Glad I could bring some laughter too your life! Actually look up the old cartoon called the groovy Gollies and watch the band of gollies! You will see the lead singer in that band!

  • Still burning down the house after all these years, awesome.

  • The drummer appears to be using the same kit from the original video, amazing.

  • Eddie wheeler, lead singer

  • They must be one of the busiest groups on the circuit! I shall see them tomorrow night!!! :o))

  • Still very cool after all these years, I wish I could see them in action.

  • You always are great.

  • These are the nicest bunch of talented guys you could ever meet!!!

  • @myjulie60 I'm sure they are, and they sound fine here, good song, a medley of their hit.

  • the lead singer looks like Grandpa on the Munsters.

  • @JJayFin he's actually my dad! and i'm not kidding

  • @amberlee33 who is your dad???

  • How could you not like this song!

  • Idiots who put the thumbs down need to eat a lemon!

  • They are great! Never lost their touch after all these years. Hope to see a live performance from them sometime.

  • Fantastic, 41 years later and these guys still rock, getting old is just a number, I see they refuse to give in to father time..... me too!!! Thanks goffrey for the upload.

  • You know growing old sucks

  • Glad you are all enjoying the video, thanks for watching it!

  • I don't know quite what to say!!

  • This is friggin' incredible! Great! Super!

    Man they're having fun!

Hey... if you still have the pipes and the instrumental skills, why not?

    Kiddies... this is REAL music!

    BILL

    Harriman, NY

  • @barker131776 I hope they are still cashin' checks for this song!

  • first time I've seen a guy string his guitar the same as dick dale.

  • Their voices are just as wonderful as ever!!!

  • Priceless. Thanks. The youth will understand in about 30 years (maybe). Great job to VF!

  • Brought back great memories of classic songs that my older brother & sisters listened to when I was in grade school. I'm sure these guys looked at groups like the Stones & Kiss that are still playing to sell-out crowds, and said "Hey, we can do this too"... And apparently they can. Thanks!

  • What the boys lost in youth, they gained in musical virtuosity. Compare videos. They really learned their craft.

  • go for it boys, well done and thankyou 4 ever !!!!!!!!

  • LOL!

  • Thanks for putting this video.

they become old singers. and me too , 56 years old.

    from japan.

  • Not bad for some old fellas but the song needed more cowbell at the 1:51 mark.

  • The song could have used just a little more cowbell at the 1:51 mark.

  • Not bad for some old fellas. Keep truckin' dudes.

  • I'm Hitchin a ride Andrea:<)) Remember this one?

  • Nothey are not the originals. The lead singer is Eddie Wheeler who replaced Tony Goulden. The original lead singer was Trevor Brice.

  • Good on 'em .

  • Does anyone know if they are all the original guys from 1970?

  • @flockofseagulls1001 Yes they are

  • 浦島太郎の気分です。過ぎてみれば30年・40年なんて短いですね。

  • I'm looking forward to seeing these guys again next February in the 2011 Solid Silver Sixties tour... they're good doing their own stuff and backing the other 60s guys!

  • Awsome just speachless

  • Where's the flute?

  • @1560438 - didn't you hear it at the beginning of the song?

  • @1560438 Right at the beginning you can see the guy playing it- it is actually a "recorder' or as we called them in school a flutophone.

  • Great!!! Better then the first time...love it!

  • he still hasnt got there????? lol love the song abd its cool seeing them here again

  • @enserfud can't believe it's been 40 yrs. damn. 1970.****

  • where is the actual guitar player??

  • Superb!

  • This video is great

  • the lead singer looks like Torben Lendanger from the Walkers

  • Very nice! They can still rock!

  • saw them last night on the solid sliver at Norwich.Never seen them before they were very good.Liked to have seen more.

  • saw them last night , on the 60s show, brilliant night

along with the swinging blue jeans, the troggs dave berry mike pender, brian poole, and peter sarstedt. all were brilliant

  • These are 4 of the best musicians and brilliant guys I have ever had the pleasure to meet so please show some respect on here.

  • there arte some morons on here Richpete you are spot on well said. Saw these guys on Sunday and was impressed particularly at their musicianship

  • Viva Viagra! Just kidding, I love these guys.

  • Jane Mc, that guy is proberbly enjoying what he likes doing and proberbly getting paid more than you, and perhaps he is not ready for the retired life style, and for the record, I saw these guys on the Silver 60' show in Hull on 5th March 2010 and they backed Dave berry Brian Poole etc and they earned their money I can say, and they where awsome,

  • @Richpete001 another wanker

  • @janemccallum I SUGGEST IF YOU CAN'T PASS ANY CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS OTHER THAT THE CRAP YOU ARE POSTING AND BRINGING YOU TUBE DOWN TO WHAT WOULD BE YOUR LEVEL..... PATHETIC, YOU FIND ANOTHER WEB SITE THAT CATERS FOR THE LIKES OF YOU........ BETTER STILL GET A LFE, ONE THAT IS ENJOYABLE TO YOU

  • @Richpete001 Why so hostile? its just a cool song

  • @thinchris Hey, I aint no probs with the song and the Group, my problem is with that idiot janemccallum, if you read previous posts

  • @Richpete001 I did read it. Who cares, get a life dude

  • Crikey is that old guy the original singer, gee he looks like some of the folks I look after in work ha ha ha where is his teeth . Bloody hell mate retire!

  • @janemccallum None of them are the `original` lineup band members who had hits with Hitchin A Ride and Early In The Morning in the late 60`s. Having said that some of them have been band members since 1970 .

  • @janemccallum

HOW RUDE.... that guitarist and singer has more talent in his fingers than you've got at the old folks home ! i saw these boys in Liverpool in May and they were great !!!

  • @caverndaze wanker

  • @janemccallum Oh shut up, you work at the old people's home, he's a successful musician! Go swivel stupid!

  • @npwd I dont work in a old peoples home it happens to be a care centre, I am allowed to air my views and I am sorry you feel so annoyed by them, Oh dear how do you cope in life, I have obviously ruffled your feathers, now let me see are you a peasant or a working class bumpkin now then that will ruffle your feathers even more so you can go and jump off nearest bloody cliff, and by the dreadful taste in music you have well what can one say,

  • @janemccallum So if it's so dreadful why are you even looking at it? So I could be a bumkin, or a peasant...or I could work in a high profile law enforcement position risking my life every day doing a job I love so people like you are safe! So stop your moaning, get a life and if you don't like Vanity Fare Don't effing watch them!!!!!

  • @janemccallum - My dearest Jane - You are quite the asshole, you know. You weren't alive then and you certainly are not alive now. How is it that you've become so filled with vitriol? God, please spare me the poison which lives within Miss Jane. On a separate note, "can not" is actually spelled "cannot" you friggin' idiot. Talk about dreadful grammar and spelling. You now have my permission to crawl back under your rock and compost away, you nasty son of a bitch.

  • This still kicks ass, I love these guys!

  • I love these guys......they sound much better live.....I try and see them if they're playing local to me. Eddie Wheeler also plays solo gigs in the Kent area......what a brilliant guitarist he is.

  • Still good voice!

  • Whats Ken Barlow doing singing in Vanity fare!!!! Hey its a crap performance.

  • That's Eddie Wheeler. The original front man, Trevor Brice, left the band in the early 1970s to get married. Last I read, he moved to Denmark and still records music there. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

  • You got no choice unless you take the coward way out and commit suicide

  • you are a moron

  • I dunno, maybe I would rather be dead than have the Jeff Vortecs of the world email me!

  • knowall..no one cares if your dead..

  • In that regard lobo, where in the same boat.

Hey, it turns out that wasnt the original singer. I WANT TO LIVE NOW!-lol...

  • hey what the hell, my computer won't let me play that song anymore, why?????????????????

  • Great memories of AM radio, circa 1970. Thanks for the post and to the band for touring again and bringing this music to the world!

  • awesome performance!
