I was in Alpha Company a year after Capt. Forrester. He was and is a legend and I am proud to have served in the same unit that he was in. I met Capt. Forrester in Washington DC at the Wall. It was my privilege to shake his hand.
@pinz2022 It is not the men who make themselves heroes -- it is the truth of history that elevates these real people to super-real events. Not one of these leaders view themselves as a hero, by the way -- but their men do. Maybe you ought to take up your complaint with the men who survived because of these leaders and hear what they have to say about your "observation."
Still a great man .. remember Leavenworth 1975. A silent Hero.
