It's the world's largest production pickup, NOT the largest truck. It's only a medium duty as far as trucks go. It only has a 7.6L engine. Heavy duty trucks usually have a 14L engine or bigger and severe duty semis can have 18L engines with 10 wheel drive (5 axles).

INternational also built the very first SUV!!!!!! They called it a INternational Scout - and I had one in 1970!!!!!!!! Oddest thing - the windsheild wipers were gas powered - from exhaust coming off the engine!!!! Downhill they flapped like they were out of control - not syncronised - uphill - slow and still not in sync - but painfilly slow!!!!! Only bad part - in 2 years - I had to replace the clutch 3 times!!!!!!

Actually, the DT466 engine in these trucks runs extremely clean, even with regular petroleum-based diesel, and it can be fueled by biodiesel with few or no modifications -- which means almost zero emissions and almost zero pollution.

I'm not defending the vehicle or saying everyone should have one; I just think that the average mid-size, gasoline-powered sport utility vehicle probably pollutes more than this vehicle does. It seems to be intended as a giant toy for extremely wealthy men, based on its $100,000+ price tag. I'm sure there are men like that in countries other than the USA. ;-)
