Not really they have different sounds, the jersey boys are more theatrical singing and the originals are more choral.

I saw the play and I dont think these were the actors in which I saw at the theater I was at. JERSEY BOYS IS THE BEST PLAY EVER! GO FRANKIE VALLI!

Yeah I saw Jersey Boys over spring break and I saw John Micheal Dias at a Wednesday matinee and he was pretty amazing and we all wondered what Jarrod Spector would sound like, from this he would have been even more amazing.

I dunno, I liked JMD a bit more. ;) If you can see both, though, I'd recommend it -- I've really enjoyed everybody I've seen in the Chicago cast, and that includes lots of understudies.

Steve and Michael swamped casts because Michael's from Chicago. He wanted to play Chicago due to having family, etc. there. I overheard this at the stagedoor in L.A. my first time seeing the show. They had just swapped.

It's funny because if you look at the Broadway on Broadway video of the NY Cast singing this, it's the arrangements are almost identical except that in this the one who plays Bob(Drew) starts the song followed by the one playing Nick(Michael). In the other video, it's the one playing Nick(Bobby Spencer) and then the one playing Bob(u/s Matt Scott).
