Saw him in Toronto a few years back and he freaked everyone out with this after a Beatles cover. A few songs later he got down off the stage and walked through the crowd stopping about 5 feet from me and my buddies. The band had launched in to another song and he played from there, surrounded by a bunch of slack-jawed revellers - awesome.

I've seen Alejandro a few times and am always blown away. Such a great live act... whenever they do this song I get chills - I can't imagine a better cover, simply not possible. Great post!

The True Believers (Alejandro's band in Austin) were doing this song back in '85-'88. They would also open with 'Pipeline at most of their shows. 2:40 of face peelin heat. One of the greatest live bands I have ever seen. At at almost 100 different bands, thats saying something. Gawd I miss the Believers.
