  • They are all great but do not forget Masayoshi Takanaka...

  • Thank you for posting the movie. I am a Japanese fan of the band. I have grown up with Mezzoforte and Casiopea. In my personal view, Mezzorote's songs are more melodious than Casiopea's ones many of which feature technical aspects. I love both!

  • I was a keen young 15yo guitarist in the early 1980's when i first heard this piece...it was like a bolt of lightning, so vibrant and instrumentally complex. At the time all the other kids were listening to the top 40 stuff at the time and I was getting into Mezzoforte, George Benson, santana and local Aussie bands. Fantastic!

  • @sydneynorgren,

I agree with you - this piece was so different to everything else at the time. "Garden Party" made it into the lower reaches of the Australian Top 40 chart in September 1983. I bought a copy of the 45 single for about 50 cents at a second hand store in Sydney a couple of years later.

  • the 80s was my 20 to 30 period and i listend to these guys .shakatak .level 42 and many others this decade was the highlight of my life miss the so much. But songs like this just help keep it all alive cheers for posting.

  • Thank you so much for posting the video. I have been a fan of Mezzoforte since 1982. I am so happy that the band is still active. My dream is to view a joint live performance between Mezzoforte and Casiopea. Casiopea is a Japanese jazz/funk band and has been popular globally.

  • Love Mezzoforte!!! Saw them live years ago when this was in the UK charts as a single. Definatley takes me back to my youth! If you like this sort of music, check out Matt Bianco...they are brilliant too!

I got to see them in Northampton U K many years ago & they were just out of this world! I thought I would get to see them again but it seems not to be! Thanks so much for posting this - Don't know of another group with such a great sound.
