  • my moms got the limited and if i did something like with her she would KILL me but i would have do it eney whay

  • @mowat440 LOL... well my ex wife threatened to divorce me after a few of these trips... looks like I should have kept going on em cause she divorced me anyway... I had so much fun out 4x4'n... poor jeep is broken down now... crankshaft is all messed up due to a problem with 2 of the rod bearings...grrrr... soon I will be back out on the trails and makin more vids... Thanks for watching!

  • this gives me some hope for the liberty iman XJ fan but was forced to but a FJ because theres no after market support for Liberties but if owners keep wheeling them it will grow and i can rejoin the jeep fam. god i miss my jeep

  • @MrJeepin420style Thanks man..and hell yeah keep on 4x4'n I've always said that while it does depend a lot on what exactly you drive but on the flip side it has a lot to do with your knowledge of how to drive..I get a lot of places that most people cant get with a tricked out jeep...and whether or not you believe the fact that this puddle was 4-5 feet deep or not it doesnt matter...I was having a blast and I was doing stuff with a completely stock jeep liberty that most wouldnt try

  • @naitrose07 with their 4.5"lift kit 37" mud tires and snorkels... lol... and what I should do is go back and edit the video and show a picture from summer time where I am standing next to the big tree to the left in the ditch that I drove into in the video and show how me at 6' tall is just below shoulder height with the tree you see in the video... for reals..haters... lol... Fun Times Fun Times

  • @MrJeepin420style I don't think that hole was 4-5 foot deep, but I know I am also an owner of an 03 Liberty Limited and hit a hole about like that and a 5 inch lifted XTERRA on 33's hit it right after me and about drowned his motor out. I even hit it a lot slower than you which scared the hell out of me. As soon as the nose went under it was pedal to the floor, lol.

  • you guys dont do much off roading i take it, because that was way to fast into the water. also there is no way thats 5 foot deep it was probably 2 foot at the most

  • way too fast, not 5 foot deep, your speed makes it look deeper than it is...

  • well it wasnt 5 ft the whole way across obviously...but I went back there during summer and took a picture of me standing next to the big tree you can see to the left of me. and I'm standing in a ditch and my shoulders barely come to the bottom part of what you can see in the vid. so yes it was 5 ft deep...maybe not very far but yes it was. and I wasnt going very fast either, but fast enough to get me through and slow enough to not completely bog down and flood the engine. thanks for watching

  • that was pretty sick dude!!!

  • OMG!!! lol

  • reminds me of heading home from work one rainy day (logging road) they pushed all the gravel to the sides (fix sink holes) so it was a 2km long channel...welll it rained all day and that channel had filled up with about 2ft of water...had my 05 dodge 2500 4by in 4th gear to the pins all the way thru and it was fun

  • did any water get in the jeep? lol

  • fortuanetely not and I didnt even get any on my intake filter either. thanks for watching!

  • your friend has a hellacious laugh!

  • yeah...kinda horrible and annoying isnt it...lol!

  • that soooo wasnt 5 feet deep that was a wave it wasnt even up to the hood!

  • no doubt I'd give it maybe a foot and a half! come back whn you have a solid front axle or better yet just trade it in and get a rubicon!

  • I would love to trade in for a rubi...and i'm sorry to say that while you do get that wave motion on the front...i came that summer whe the puddle was all dried out and stood exactly where this happened and took a picture of me pointing at where the water line was and it came up to my chest...i'm 6'1"...so 4' may be a better estimate and it wasnt a very long portion of that very long puddle that was in that deep water...the main thing was that after 50+ feet and a 4' section i had no water in

  • the intake filter box or on the filter itself either....thanks for watching guys...really appreciate the comments. happy trails!

  • niiiice

  • glad you liked thanks for watching.

  • Thankfully the filters on those are setup as to not really suck in water. Splashing it won't hydrolock, submerging it would though. Now if there was a CAI on there, it might be a problem. Hope you either replaced the front diff or got yourself a cover for it... they like to crack like none other on the Liberties. The armor covering the diff isn't really there for the protection but would mostly be there to hold the damn thing together. Keep hittin' the trails, and be safe!

  • I have a $8500 laundry list of items I would like to get...I'm thinkin' a dana 40 for the front and 60 for the back would that be too much power for a liberty. its got a 30 front and Chrysler hell what is it 9.25" on the back right now and so far hasn't been too bad out where i go, but more power and for sure under carriage protection slide panels, etc would be nice including a 2.5" lift to aide in a little more clearance. thanks for watching!

  • You might be thinking of the Dana 44. Would you be converting from the IFS to a solid front axle? It makes a difference since you can only lift it about 2.5" before having to replace those front arms. Typically you shouldn't have to worry about the axles except if you put much larger tires on it or lockers. Going up to a 31" tire might be best bet with a small lift. Gotta think articulation, not just clearance. Either way, changing the gearing can help too but good tires can get you through more

  • suprisingly...i haven't had any problems with the jeep being completely stock...only clearance over a few objects out where i go....about the differential, you may be right...i was just going for total beefed up...but i have been wondering about the axle as i will be putting lockers spacers and bigger tires on, eventually. do you know of anyone that has modified liberties that are running well and their specs for the mods done? thanks for the tips!!

  • Can you swap a solid axle into the front?

  • I'm pretty sure I can...when I upgrade to a little more beefy differentials and the 2.5" lift, I'm going to look into it. Thanks for watching.

  • looks like tahuya

  • It most definitely is!!! I haven't gone out for a while, since my liberty is also my daily driver and I did enough damage in during last spring and summer...my neighbor has a cj that I might by tho..he's already gotten it modified with the exception of more powerful differentials..could use a Dana 60 in the rear and Dana 40 in the front otherwise good to go. Maybe I'll see ya on the trails one of these days...I'll be the only libby out there...always am!

  • holy crap! i just looked at all your vids and i see that you like to 4 wheel - that's so sick!! i learned to 4 wheel on a resurrected 72 bronco 3-speed on the column. it was SOOOO much fun in the snow but the thing rusted out, died and i had to bury it :( 4 wheeling is a good tension/stress reliever...

  • i've never submarined it, just snow stuff really but that looks like fun! you're a crazy man }:]

  • I'd be even crazier if my wife would let me get back out there, but she says until I buy a different daily driver I can;t keep bashing up and submerging my current daily driver...HA!!! guess its time to buy another set of wheels...maybe this time I'll get a real man's jeep!!! glad to see you enjoy more than just my music...thanks for watchin and happy trails my friend.

  • a crazy and WISE man; an unhappy wife = an unhappy life 8/ no more happy trails for me; now i'm just a highway star *** diver down, sir haha!

  • HA!!!!

  • and btw mr. crazyoffroadsubmarineman - your friend sounds maniacal, WOW }:D

  • you should hear him after a few more beers...actually it gets kinda annoying...I like to mess with him..he thinks he's a little white g-dog...so I always call him gangsta pig pen...HA!!!

  • OMG HAHAAA!!! this vid is hilarious enough, then you hear that insane laugh!!! you 2 are out of control; your wives need to lock you up AHAAA!!!

  • Wow man, you got some guts! Nice shot of it too..

  • I just can;t wait until I get the mods done to the jeep and then I can go all out balls to the wall...well at least until the wife grounds me from adding more dents to my jeep, HA!!!! Thanks for watching.

  • sweet

  • And it was fun too...not that my wife approves...at least I only dent my car...not wreck it like the 6 she has in 1.5 years time....oops that slipped sorry, I'm a little upset right now...I can't go 4x4'n yet she can crash cars...makes perfect sense no?

  • And it was fun too...not that my wife approves...at least I only dent my car...not wreck it like the 6 she has in 1.5 years time....oops that slipped sorry, I'm a little upset right now...I can't go 4x4'n yet she can crash cars...makes perfect sense no?

  • Sweet. I spent my deployment money on my 07 liberty, I'm not about to wreck, but it would be awesome. Liberty's spin THEE best donuts ever.

  • The newer ones are too low to the ground in the front thou, and don't have really great energy for climbing around in some of the places I like to take mine. I took the fenders off of mine to get a little more turn radius as well. it looks silly but it works great, not too mention they don;t keep flying off everytime I go through a huge puddle. HA! Thanks for watching, and what branch of the service are you in?

  • haahha his laugh is SO fuckin FUNNY!

  • And think about how he sounds after a few too many beers!!! Thanks for watching

  • hahahahahahhahahaha NICCCEEEE!!!!!

  • As Steve Martin once said, "We are 2 wild and crazy guys!!!" Thanks for watching.

  • it's a wonderful thing called a snorkle lmao :P

  • If only...man the possibilities would be endless...well at least until I flooded the interior, HA!

  • You guys sound like nut-jobs. Nut-jobs are fun.

  • Is that Tahuya, WA?? Looks like it.

  • yup!!! Sure is. That is about really the only place I dare to brave in my daily driver. As soon as I add the lift, lockers, and skid plates...I will venture into more uncharted waters. Thanks for watching!!

  • Yeah, I take my 2wd drive out, but I wouldn't do anything to crazy. You really have to know what your doing otherwise you'll just bury yourself in sand or something. But it's fun. It's what they were made for :P

  • Yeah I just made a laundry list of much needed add ons...like lockers, a 2.5" lift, and wench. Thanks for watching, and have fun...one of these days that 2wd may turn in to a true 4x4, ha!!!

  • your buddy laughs like Pig Pen on Out Cold.

  • Yeah its pretty annoying...even worse the more he drinks. HA!!!Thanks for watching.

  • Nice, have you done any work to it?

  • No, I just made a wish list though...most of the things I want will be thru Rocky Road OutFitters. I.e. a 2.5" lift, old emu and Hydro shocks, 1" wheel spacers, 17" rims, 32in mud tires, Bull bar with TMax 9000lb winch, sideliners, skidplates, top rack, and air compressor...too name a few (~$8,500 worth) Thanks for watching!!!

  • oh and ARB lockers, but I am still debating whether or not i want to change from the Dana 30 IFS, on the front, and Chrysler 2.25"dia RG, rear, differentials first. This rig runs relatively nice completely stock, so I may just go with the lockers and lift and call it good...(FOR NOW, HA!!!)

  • how the fuck...

  • no no no...for the fuck (of it) HA!!

Thanks for watching...The first time around I almost slammed into a tree on the way out. I stopped mere inches away.

  • lol, i wouldnt do that, unless it was a cheap ford XD

  • That's what all my friends keep telling me...my response is "It's a Jeep, it's made to et muddy and to boldly go places where no 4X4 has gone before." It usually gets me put in the doghouse...but hey at least I'll have fun getting there!!!

  • Lol i just bought a 2007 Liberty, the brochure says do not go deeper than 20" :P Cool

  • Many happy trails, and screw the brochure...have fun and get muddy!!!

  • Screw those guys man...that was awesome!

  • Water will be sucked in through the Airintake and will just kill your engine. I dondt care how you drive, I just want to tell you, what might happen.

  • Have you looked under the hood of a Jeep Liberty Lately? The design of the intake is very sweet. I have logged many hours sloshing thru puddles (most of them only 2 feet like you mentioned in your last comment) coming away with a completely dry filter and maybe a 1/4 inch of water in the bottom of the intake filter box. After aiding many a water logged 4X4'er I can say that the liberty is one of the better stock designed intakes. Thanks for watching!

  • Your talking nonsens. The water came up to the windshield cause you drived to fast into that puddle, so that instead creating a nice bow wave, the water just swapped over your hood. That water was no deeper then maybe 2 feet. You should learn how to drive offroad, then if you continue to drive through water like on your video, you will kill your car.

  • This comment does not justify a response, unless you took the time to read thru the rest of the comments and coversations posted here. Your arguments are valid and justifiable with 2 exceptions...one you were not there and 2 I work on motors and engines for a living and probably know more about how they operate and what it takes to destroy one than most people that own 4X4's. I appreciate the view, but please take the time to think before posting.

  • agree

  • Yeah I heard spillman is one of those places that put Tahuya to shame...I'd like that...I'd be the only idiot out there in a Liberty...and at least I would have someone to pull me out! HA!

  • The water he's hitting is not actually 5'deep there.. there is just a wave being foreced up by the front end. I've hit puddles 2-3' deep that caused a simlar wave up front when in reality the water (when standing) was only about to the bottom of my doors.

  • you are 1/2 way right! Normally yes that is the case, but for some reason this puddle had a crazy dip...(I actually walked through the puddle and at this point it was up to my chest)...I was expecting it to be as you said shallower, but this took me by suprise...if you ever get up to WA, you should go to Tahuya, you'd like the puddles here! Happy Mudding and thanks for watching!

  • I know exactly where that is. Its at spillman, when you go in the trials its to the right, over by the piles of rocks. I've been through the exact spot many times in my 87 nissan (its stock with 31's) its MAYBE 3' deep, and... there are no crazy dips in there, I've seen that hole bone dry last summer.

Now, if you go up that hill in front of you and go back to mud lake, THAT is deep and it is auctually MUD nto a fucking puddle.

  • Yeah I saw it dry last summer too, I was out with a buddy of mine in a Red Jeep Cherokee sittin on a 4 1/2" lift with 31 inch mudders. There was NO dip then, but there is now! I still have't chanced those huge puddles yet! Maybe one day!

  • Its funny you say that... I was JUST out there TODAY! I was camping out there last night. I thought of that PUDDLE and decided to drive through it, I drove through it nice and slow... FOUR TIMES, and guess what? NO DIPS! It is MAYBE 2.5' deep at the DEEPEST SPOT!

  • I don't know what to tell you...I stood out in the middle of that puddle and it was up to my chest...(and I'm not a midget at 6'1"), and I had a friend with me that can confirm...not too mention the excessive nose dive I take right before the water shoots up and over...I believe you were out there...but I'm telling you it was DEEEEEP that day...with a dip!!! Thanks for playing mythbuster on me though!

  • So you are telling me you walked through it and then got back in your brand new bitch jeep? The water in there is VERY DIRTY! The nose of your jeep never took a dive going through it, the water just came up and over the hood, it only takes about 2.5' of water to do that to a stock jeep.

  • Actually my bitch jeep has hauled out 2 bitch hummers, one Blazer, and 2 broncos...not too mention stock it has never gotten stuck, knock on wood...and yes i got back into it all dirty...because just like most people, your comment was idiotic...It's a fuckin jeep Its made for getting dirty. And also the nose takes a damn good dive down!

  • Ok then, Next time i plan on going out to spillman, ill leave a comment on here so you can come out and follow me through some trails... we'll see if you get stuck.

  • dude, i cant wait to get my Jeep Next month!!!

so your telling me that this cars' engine wont get flooded or any harm come to it by doing things like this? please say yes!

  • IF you hit the hole right the front end creates a wave that pushes water up and around the hood and traps a small pocket of air in there which allows you to drive VERY short distances with water coming over the hood and not pull any water in through the airbox. I do this all the time in my TJ. You gotta be careful though.

  • Also, from what I have seen in my limited experience...faster is not always better, unless its a really shallow puddle...It seems that every person I have rescued from a puddle (check out my other vids) has been trying to blast through the puddle. You creat a taller wave the faster you go and it forces more water down your intake........

  • If the puddle is just deep enough that its below your intake I suggest going a little slower though the puddle that way you won't flood yourself out...as soon as I get my some of my other vids modified to fit youtube I will post a few examples of the all the different puddles I have been through...I am no expert but I have yet to be stranded in a puddle..knock on wood!

  • No, I am saying that if you are careful you can go crazy in the puddles and come out with a dry filter and a very non flooded engine. So in a round about way YES, but just make sure you practice on some shallower puddles until you learn what you can and can't do. Like I would't recommend going swampin in the Lib, but a good size puddle is fine, and just as fun.

  • That's always fun, I've done similar in my Cherokee. Only got stuck once, and I have no idea how I managed to get it back out again. It didn't leak either :D

  • Thanks for the view...sadly..the wife has banned me from 4X4'n for a while...says I'm ruining my daily driver... while partially true...anything with JEEP in the name would be wasted if it didn't see a little mud now and then...

  • That was sick dude!!!!! Can't wait to take my Libby off road!!!

  • Thanks...I wish the video quality could have been better thou...Happy Trails my friend...and get some mud on that Jeep!

  • I drive a liberty and even I'm surprised water didn't go down the intake since the intake is positioned in the gap between the grill and hood and water came across the hood, but i guess even if it did the holes in the bottom of the air box saved your filter and engine.

  • do you own any other jeeps or is this your first and only? The liberty is just one suprise after another...happy trails!

  • idiots, that would flood the engine, you should never hit water that fast, im sure they would make it if they just took it slow.

  • Actually if you knew something about how an engine works..or how the liberty's intake is situated...you would realize that I can go for days doing this and hardly get any water even in the intake filter box...I have been doing this kind of thing for a while and have never even left the area with a wet filter...let alone a flooded engine...You my friend are the idiot

  • that would scare the shit outa me LOL

  • It did...even the second time I went through it...what can I say I'm a glutton for punishment! HA! Thanks for watching.
