@Epona1979- Your horse is stunning! I have a mini painted mare who trots just like him (just like a stallion) her tail raises a bit higher though. I really wish i could get a video of her but as soon as the camera comes out she "forgets" she was running! She really doesnt' know she is a mare I'm convinced!

He measures under 9 hands tall and is very refined. No one except the smallest toddler could sit on him. Dressage horses are asked to do extremely athletic movements. He does pull a cart though.

First, he is a purebred Shetland pony.  Miniature horses are NOT "purebred" you can get papers on any horse that is under the height limit. Several generations ago, parents on both sides got miniature horse papers, so he also carries them.

I am absolutely for gelding and have gelded most colts, but a few outstanding individuals are kept as stallions to be promoted and then bred. This stallion in the video was the 2008 National Champion in Liberty as well as Top Ten in Halter and Driving for his new owner. So I'd say he's a pretty nice stallion!

Thats because he is a ASPC(Shetland Pony) Who is AMHR Hieght or his parents were as well..

So yes he is BOTH Miniature Horse / Shetland Pony MiniatureHorseLvrs.

Yes, you are exactly right! Several generations of his ASPC parents were AMHR height, and he himself is 34" tall which is definitely miniature horse height. He has ALL shetland bloodlines, as that is a blood breed for papers, versus minis which are just a "height breed".

Actually he is registered both as an American Miniature Horse AND as an American Shetland Pony. The AMHR is seeing a HUGE influx of registered Shetland Ponies getting registered as Miniature Horses lately. Do some research. Miniature horses are basically Shetlands who are small enough to register under 38" or 34" tall.
