And you realise that China has controlled Tibet for over 2000 years and Tibet has always been a Part of China, and how long has eastern country known tibet for? 100 to 150 years?
I lived amongst them. My dad is a doc and we had many visitors of Tibetan ethnicity visiting us at home aft my dad's saving their chidlren. Ethnic Tibetans are tougher and have lived with the Hui Muslims and the Hans for at least 8 centuries (historically verifiable). Where I was raised, there are Tibetans just because it WAS a single country. Tibetans by and large was a normadic people and they go to where the grass is green. For this reason, in some areas they are surrounded by Huis and Hans.

Dear Forte,
Chinese nationals are sincere citizens who are mostly passive; for most Chinese believe in the saying of Confucius: "Do unto others what you want others to do to you". The Chinese nationals rising up to block the Tibetan protesters would affect the image of China and thus harm the blooming economy of China. Why not compromising with the Tibetans like the Mongols did to the Chinese in the past? I believe these Tibetans have been sidelined because of corruptions by officials.

let's get this right: I am a buddhist myself, and some of the rules are included being loyal to the government, not involve in politics. so these monks are breaking the rule! it is important that monks are not allowed to be involve in politic as Shakyamuni believe politic is full of lies.
A Buddha is a person who is completely free from all faults and mental obstructions. even suffering is a form of practice. so clearly there is no reason for the monks to lead to riot.

You have a point. However, a monk or a lama is not necessarily a Buddhist. It is just a job, and an easy one. Dalai Lama is no Buddhist, nor is he a Gandhi. He just wants people to believe so and then gets what he wants. A temple or a church is just a place for the business of worship. It does not sell Coke, but the feeling of comfort and sense of belonging. It uses your greed for eternal life and fear for death to control your soul and your wallet.

The BBC reporting really is shameful. True, the chinese news blackout is deplorable, but that does not make the BBC report right. The best way to look at this is just to delete the Tibetan & Chinese prefices from all these reports & substitue them with A Person or Persons. Then you see the picture.
Managing a multi-ethnic society is already tricky, Chinese ethnic policies need to be looked at. But if you just look at what happened, it's a riot & should be treated as such.

UK now in a mess, (Blair to personally) find funds to restore UK economy and peace and to repair damage done by an imbalance in rich and poor which has left the poor vulnerable to rich property exploiters as 'council flats are being sold off and hunted down as if they are lined in gold, it is causing some unrest, as if the people who live in them may simply be moved on at a moments notice so that the rich may live in them( this is out of control) . UK society also extremely unstable.

rather than ending our life and world as failures, that failing state seems to be a form of depression which appears to exist again in the male tribe we need now 'experts' to work out why? and to gently develop 'the male' and to take the reigns of power away for sometime until the matter can be resolved. I would rather leave those monks alone. They have nothin to do wif us. If Tibet really should be independent, and Chinese Govn really is stink in Tibet, all tibet citizens will be on protesting. Tibet ppl will rule but not monks. Buddhism is suppose to look for peace and a life wif nature but not riots and fight wif politicians.

And "living off other countries" you say...we work for a living and pay the taxes due. i know history is history...Please read "Tibet and the Tibetans. by Tsung-lien Shen, Shen-chi Liu"...This book was written in 1954 by the 2 chinese officials who came as Mao's rep. in Tibet. It was published by the Stanford University Press!

I lived amongst them. My dad is a doc and we had many visitors of Tibetan ethnicity visiting us at home aft my dad's saving their chidlren. Ethnic Tibetans are tougher and have lived with the Hui Muslims and the Hans for at least 8 centuries (historically verifiable). Where I was raised, there are Tibetans just because it WAS a single country. Tibetans by and large was a normadic people and they go to where the grass is green. For this reason, in some areas they are surrounded by Huis and Hans.

In every modern nation there is separation of state and church. These vicious propagandists want to create a government with a leader who also happens to be the religious leader of the state. Dalai may become the president, pope and commander in chief of his country. The only person who had that role in history was Hirohito: Japanese emperor during WWII.
