I melee uselessly at 2:14, 3:30, 3:45*, 5:20, 5:21*, 7:20, and maybe a couple other times I missed.
*I melee after swapping weapons a lot because of habit from Island - meleeing air is generally quieter than the normal weapon cocking sound, so it's a stealth thing.

As with most things in Halo Trial, it has its uses at times, but those times aren't too common.
Of course, in the vid I go and screw it up by falling down, but I would have had to jump down anyway, so meh...
