There is no 63 Version of it.

They only made a 100 (and 100 convertibles) of them and all of them have the 5.5L Engine.

The Engine in the CLK is therefor not a "detuned" SLR-Engine, it's just a less tuned X55, 5.4 Liter AMG-Engine.

And, another Thing - the 6.2L "63 AMG" V8 produces a horsepower range from 457 (C-class) to 525hp (CL/S-Class), just like the 55Supercharged one! (476-517hp - up to 650in the SLR722)

hey search it up. i am 100% correct that they put a 63(6.2) in it. Get the specs on the clk dtm black series. motortrend did a test on it on their mag on their aug 07 issue. trust me they have a 63 for the dtm.

ahhhh you mean the CLK63 AMG "Black Series" - it is not as limited as the DTM is (100 Coupés and 100 Convertibles)

There is a SLK55 AMG "Black Series" as well :) They are some kind of Special Edition to the 40th "birthday" of AMG

They both cost around 120.000€s (The DTM costs ~230.000€)

well its not really a 40th b-day thing because the slk black series was released last year. there is only one car they made that was for their 40th celebration. the cl65 amg. the black series were just lighter more track ready versions where the clk was 300lbs lighter.

im not sayin ur wrong amvc but what you said abbout the power range of the 6.2 . it is designed fully by amg themself no mercedes parts at all this time. and its point is to be more efficient than the 55. more power less torque. and it can be mated with the new 7 spd tranny they got since it wouldnt work with the 55 cuz of its massive torque.

I'm sure that the CLK has the same engine than the SLR, but a little bit de-tuned, for commercial reasons most probably, so just adjust it a little and it'll smoke the f**k out the SLR)

its not the same engine, the clk dtm uses either a tuned version of the 55 engine (5.5 liter supercharged) and the other version you can get is the naturally aspirated 63 engine (6.25 liter engine). the 55 makes less hp but more torque 467hp 507 pound feet, the 63 makes 510hp 470pound feet. you can get either but the slr has a 5.4 liter supercharged engine making 620hp, at the most the clk has a 100hp deficit so it is impressive that it keeps up well.

the CLK has the same 5.5 litre supercharged V8 based engine, it develops 586 HP and a torque of something about 780Nm, we could say that the SLR is a more tuned version of that engine. and they don't put the atmospheric 6.2 V8 engine on the DTM, they only put the 5.5 superchaarged.

first the clk dtm uses a 5.5 litre based of their 5 litre v8 from all non amg mercs (cl500,sl500 etc.) the slr uses a handbuilt 5.4 litre v8. like i told AmvC they do have a 6.2 in the clk dtm black series. there is no "we could say..." these are hard facts. its easy to google it instead of assuming.

SLR is so beautiful, nice and has good design.

It is with 335 km/h not the fastest, but for it he has the good design and good handling. He is save. This is this typical in German cars: Sport and luxury in unites ....<3 long live AMG!!!^^
