Okay, I would like to point out that despite whatever capitalist america tried to teach us about hating everyone else, Communism is not evil. In fact, it is one of the most reasonable and caring forms of economic structuring. I admit, it has not be successful in practice on the large scale, but that's due to human corruption. Almost every successful small scale cultures practiced (many successfully) communism, going back well before Marx. He just put things into words and added his own thoughts.

Just because Smanifesto is against America doesn't mean they're communists. Bands like NOFX, Bad Religion, Pennywise, Minor Threat, and so on are all anti-american in a sense; pretty sure none of those bands support communism, although I think smanifesto might be putting red (commy color) so they can show they're trying to demote American society; really not to promote their supposed communist beliefs.

Well... America does have a communist undertone... Ever herd of the welfare system? People all pay taxes to a greater good (government)... I mean, the lines are fairly blurred both ways. Communism is not bad and nor does it bash America. In the 50's+ we were taught to fear the Red Army because, well the cold war. Palmer raids started and up until '94 did the whole 'war' officially stop.

Even our own democray has failed us. It was great when it began, everyone had a say and everything was equal. they talk about a lot of different problems with society in general, like the album somewhere in the between is sort of anti established religion, and a few of the songs off of everything goes numb are anti-suicide. I'd say the most prevalent theme in Tomas's lyrics is existentialism. He mentions Camus in "Here's To Life", and songs like "Somewhere in the Between," "If and when we rise again," and "Down, Down, Down to Mephisto's Cafe" all have a lot of existentialist concepts in the lyrics

1. Communist Manifesto = Streetlight Manifesto? Nah. the word manifesto is derived from to manifest or to reveal. the book was written to reveal the aspects of communism, the name streetlight manifesto is just a cool name.

Thomas Kalnoky wrote the entire Keasby Nights album, which was originally preformed by Catch 22. Thomas left Catch 22 for personal reasons, then formed Streetlight Manifesto, then he re recorded Keasby Nights completely because he thought the original wasn't good enough.

Also a Manifesto is a book of theories on the topic in mind, for Instance the Marxist Manifesto is a manifesto of Marx's thories. same for ANY manifesto.
