  • This bitch is a dumb shit hipster. Fat too.

  • This really moved me! I've never seen Rent 'cos I'm too far away but I totally agree with everything you said: it means acceptance. I dare say I nearly cried myself! :'(

  • i would like to go some time

  • I love this video, i love how this musical means so much more to you then music and words, it brings back memories.

  • i thought it was closing sept. 8th

  • I am so mad RENT is closing cause I can't get there in time.

I saw it two years ago and just three days prior, my house was robbed and most of my valuables were taken. RENT let me forget what was happening and let me filter my emotions and feel like I can do something big.

I have seen many shows in my life, in my 21 years, and nothing had moved me soo much.

  • geeze i was crying. one thing i wanted to do ever in my life was see rent. and this crushed my heart. my life is this show. this show is my life. i dont know what i will do without it. people like you are going to keep rent alive =]

  • I'm tearing up just watching this.

  • 105,143 minutes till Rent Closes!!!!!!!! *runs away to cry*

  • im so sorry a big part of your life is being taken away i know its unfair but youll make it. And you can stsrt a new tradition were you and your friends and family can wacth rent on video and maybe even act it out. Im sorry, Im a fan, I subscribed

  • I totally see your point when you say that you feel Chris Columbus ruined Rent by turning it into a movie. However, I don't think he ruined it. I think he just gave rent much more publicity than it could have ever gotten in theater. In fact, if it wasn't FOR the movie, I probably would have never heard of Rent. And now, I have tickets to go see the broadway version before it officially ends.

  • this may sound silly but rent has changed peoples lives, it is a shame its leaving, but mabye it will come back. fingers crossed

    goodbye, rent (for now)

  • OMFG!

I was just like you.I cried wahen i found out that Rent was closing. God Damn that fucking video at the beggining of the official site.I have never seen the show,I have never been to Newy York and I've only seen the movie and i love it(starting to tear). And now Iwont be able to see it. WHAAAA!

  • AMEN!

    Thank You Jonathan Larson.

This show will be truly missed, but never forgotten.

  • Dont be embarrassed to cry!!! it shows what all of us rentheads are feeling about Rent closing!!! i know that if i was making a video saying what Rent meant to me i would probably have been balling!!!

  • i agree with you.i unfortunally have only seen the movie and i have yet to see te show if i get to see it before it closes and ive seen the movie and its documentary only god knows how many times.rent had helped me through some pretty tuff times and to know something so moving so amazing thats been there for so long is sudenlly going to be gone its horrible.i know a lot of people who thnk im stupid 4 making such a big deal out of it but its not really that stupid

  • That was so touching! I totally agree with you on the whole level of it being SO much more.

  • He DOES have a GIANT Adams Apple!!! LOL

You make me laugh and you make me cry joliz with these memories. It's like the best and worst of my trips to NY! All rolled into one video! I lvoe you and I love RENT and will miss it dearly!

  • i saw it in march 2006 on a trip for school. the reason we saw it with our trip was me. lol i was obsessed with rent and convinced my teacher that it must be seen. during the show me and my friend mooed with maureen, clapped with seasons of love, and his favorite story is how i cried like a baby during finale b. he told me it was closing and i cried forEVER! my family thought i was nuts but RENT IS FOREVER! thnks for understanding and...

    *THANK YOU JONATHON LARSON*

  • Dont be embrassed, we all feel like it is "SO MUCH MORE" because it is

  • AAAHHHA! I posted a comment but it's not showing up. It was mega-long...I had to split it up. The second part of it is still copied on my computer...I hope it shows up.. I'll check tomorrow if it's not...I'll retype it. ;_;

  • Hahah. There it is. *pokes* Ooopps...

  • You almost made me cry. The tears were there. Right there. And the thing is: I've only seen the Chris Columbus version. I'm 13, and haven't gotten around to seeing it in New York. Not even on tour. My friends and I; all RENTheads, as big a renthead you can be for never seeing the real show--we all were looking forward to going to New York with each other the first opportunity we got. (continued...)

  • (...continued) My friend made plans to take me there while she went and we would see rent. She said she was going in about a year. I just found out about rent closing, and I don't even think she knows about it. I'm so pissed, you have no clue. Well, yeah, you do, considering how much rent means to you.

"This is so embarrassing, It's a show."

Damn, girl, I can't believe you said that when you spent all that time showing why it's not JUST a show. (still too long...)

  • Once I get hold of my other RENThead friend's camera, you will sure as hell see another video response. And if you haven't already, sign the petition on petitiononline to keep RENT going!

    <333

  • Thank you Jonathan Larson.

  • Ahh! I gotta go see it now!

  • its kid of good that Rent is closing because as Johnathan's Father said it gives people in highschools, camps, preforming arts programs all over the world a chance to preform it and share it. I've seen it with Adam and Anthony and other times. i just got a ticket to the last show, so you should try and go im sure they will open up more tickets when it gets closer to june. But seriously its worry about it beacuse Rent will NEVER EVER be forgotten, thank you Johnathon Larson<3

  • WOW! Finally, someone who understands how I feel! I found out last night and I immediatley thought of my first time seeing the show and how moved I was by it! Thank you so much for posting this!!! And also...

    THANK YOU JONATHAN LARSON!!!!!

  • this is really great joliz. i don't have the luxury of being in nyc, so i got a job and i'm gonna save up money to get from houston to nyc by spring break hopefully. i pray to god and heaven and whoever the hell else is up there that i can see this fuckin' amazing show before it closes on broadway.

  • I feel the same way.

    Check out my video response.

  • "You gave me shivers. Seriously- it was so touching, and I wish that I'd seen the Broadway production, I started to watch the movie but as you said.. Why did that happen- didn't finish it. I would make a video response, but I've never seen it Thank you for sharing such a personal view and emotion with us. <3

And girl.. what are you doing making a vlog!! Dry those tears & GO. BUY. A. TICKET."
