Kids do this to us all the time and say UGGH and hang up. We have to do our job and you may have to do this job someday. Kids have no respect to us or theirself and most to all hang up on us when we ask to speak to someone 18 or over. Yesterday about 40 all hung up on me at the word ADULT or mom and dad. There are not going to have enough jails to hold the ones that will be adults in 10 years now with all your problems and issues. You will get out and wish you would of never done this for sure.

i don't think it's that bad. once when a telemarketer called my house and asked if they can talk to my mom, i said "i don't know, can you?" and they hung up.

but i like the 'what are wearing' quote, i'm gonna use that. it's brilliant.

I lie to them twice an HOUR. That's a lie though.

But seriously, I've done LOTS to them. Convinced them that I was my mom despite using a verrrrry deep voice. I've preached to them. I've tried ordering take-out from them. I've made it sound like I thought they were someone I had to tell an emergency to and that it was a life and death situation. I've flirted HORRENDOUSLY with them, while taking a bath.

This reminds me of something that happened today. A beggar asked me for change twice and then asked to use my phone. I told him I didnt have minutes as I was texting. and hes like "Yeah as you're texting" when he walked away. But it was too complicated to explain that my bestfriend put me on his plan with unlimited texting so I could text him but if I make calls it will take up his minutes.

But the beggar made me feel bad for lying to him...

I say lie to telemarketers every chance you get. Actually, here's what you do. Hang up the phone. Don't even talk. Just hang up. Simple as that. If it was my job to harass people over the phone, I'd expect a 100% hang-up rate. The only reason telemarketing exists, like spam email, is because people don't hang up, don't delete.
