I got the feeling that this coaster is so boring that you can sleep on it. I never ride it so I don't know how it feels like but it seems to me.

Only problem this ride has is is the streight strech over the lake after the first helix. I personally think they could've put the cammleback sooner, and then just added a small bunny hill. They could've also added an s-curve instead of the streight strech, like I-305.

@ultradude306 You're very right of course, but keep in mind this was Intamin's first ever hypercoaster. Generally when a coaster manyfacturer launches a new model the first ones are smaller and less elements. Probably that is to test out how they work to see how they can improve it for future models.

@TheJedigir it was part of the six flags "chain" i guess you would call it.. but they had all the loony toon stuff there along with the Superman ride. a few years back six flags was no longer a part of the theme park. either they sold it or something like that.. but anyway its just called The Ride of Steel now. it has all the same rides and attractions, just without the big names. check out the video i posted for a more entertaining view of the Ride of Steel lol

Darien Lake really needs to sort out their policies regarding prosthetics and what medical conditions bar people from getting on a ride. Unlike the Morey's ferris wheel incident, I'd say this is mostly the park's fault, and not the patron's.

I left on monday to Darien Lake, excited for this ride. I get there, soon after I find about about the veteran who died on Ride of Steel. I read the sign at the entrance of this ride. It did not say one thing about people with prosthetics not being able to go on. The ride was designed for the leg weight and upper body weight to be at a certain ratio. I asked one of the operators at the second biggest ride there, the Viper, and he said in training, nothing about prosthetics came up.

@NovaGas123 He didn't have legs, and it is assumed that that's why he fell out. If you've been on the ride, you know coming down your legs hold you in a little. The news said it was on the turn after the drop and he died instantly. His family said he died doing what he loved. RIP.

I just rode this. the video doesn't do the justice, but its an awesome rollercoaster. I would recommend it. Its pure fun. One of the largest roller coasters I ridden so far.

Just rode this 3 times today, it isn't nearly as scary as it looks. It's really funny to stick your arms straight in front of you like Superman while going down the hill. Also, don't go in the back. It can get really bumpy and hard to keep your hands in the air back there, but it isn't as bad as Mind Eraser. HINT: Don't go on Mind Eraser. It gives you such a headache that you might get short-term memory loss :P

I rode this for the first time this October. I had a summer resolution to ride every coaster at Darien Lake, and since we didn't go until Fright Fest, I had to do it then. I was shrieking at a frequency only DOGS could here until the ride finally stopped. My heart was literally in my throat.

@Coasternator Six Flags USED TO own this park as Six Flags Darien Lake, from 2000-2006, until it was bought by Parc Management, along with Six Flags Elitch Gardens. It used to be called Superman-Ride of Steel, but Parc doesn't own name rights so they changed it from Superman-Ride of Steel to plain Ride of Steel, and got rid of any DC comics things, and Bugs Bunny, including the Superman logo on the car.
