The waters at Lourdes are indeed miraculous, however it is at God's discretion or will, whether or not he chooses to heal that person. He may choose not to heal the person because it's not good for his/her soul. Saints are made through the acceptance of suffering on earth and the offering up of it to God. Faith and hope is the reason why so many people flock to Lourdes, it is a good thing. It's amazing to witness the healing powers of God.

My son lost his hearing at the age of 3 through menengitis. He was completly deaf, he went from all hearing to no hearing. The doctors told us he would never hear again, and what was destroyed in his inner/outer and middle ear can never be healed again. Just think of the verse in its context. What is a judge? It is someone who exicutes judgment that has authority to also punish. I do not have the ability to punish so how could I be judging? If indeed we are sinning, then God himself will reveal that to us when our day comes. There are rituals done in many non Catholic Christian Church services that may very well offend God. The way I look at it you have buyers and you have renters. I happen to buy into it but if you don't that's OK.
I attribute my pilgrimage to Lourdes for my being three years free of pancreatic cancer. After I was diagnosed I was told I had 3-6 months to live tops. If you think my condition is only due to luck I'll take that too, whatever floats your boat. Whatever, miracles do happen, mark it down.

The waters at Lourdes are indeed miraculous, however it is at God's discretion or will, whether or not he chooses to heal that person. He may choose not to heal the person because it's not good for his/her soul. Saints are made through the acceptance of suffering on earth and the offering up of it to God. Faith and hope is the reason why so many people flock to Lourdes, it is a good thing. It's amazing to witness the healing powers of God.

When you have a god you can't necessarily see, having a "visual aid"...I guess you could call it...is a nice way to connect to God. But we pray directly to him. It's like talking to someone over the phone and looking at a picture of them at the same time.
As for Lourdes, the madness is that it's turned into a business atmosphere! It should be strictly a place of worship.

My son lost his hearing at the age of 3 through menengitis. He was completly deaf, he went from all hearing to no hearing. The doctors told us he would never hear again, and what was destroyed in his inner/outer and middle ear can never be healed again. The summer of that year (1999) my mom took us to Lourdes....it wa...s after this visit to Lourdes that my son began to hear again....and continues to do so.... Amen!See more
