@simonpt Rolls Royce You are right there plus those RB211s they nearly bankrupted the company in the 70s until it was bailed out on the grounds of national security since then the engines have been the best GE,Pratt Whiteley are nothing and don't forget Concorde it used Rolls Royce Olympus engines now thats power missed that plane.

Well, from the engines and the wing you can tell it is definitely a 757, but I'm not sure if it's a 200.

The Engines Power down because if they stayed at full power you would have a Problem and run out of fuel :P

just have to remember that it is normal. All airliners do this and reduce to climbing engine power, perfectly normal. Read the bad magazines they leave for you, might make you laugh and forget about it :D

what u have to remeber is that after the power down, its still very close to full power, just the roar is a lower pitch, its still about 30000lbs of thrust from each engine LOL

Like someone before me has said every airline does it, because it is to do with Climb Performace. Not only that there is a limit of the speed you can do below 10,000 FT which is 250 KNTS, so therefore the decrease in power is for A) Climb Performance and Speed and B) To Stay below 250 KNTS.

WOW I Love the 757-200 and the bit where the Purser goes and "if you wish to listen to the sundset acompanying the entertainment programmes" why would you need that when you have the RB211-535E4

NO Airline flys 767-300ER between Standsted and Paphos, your more likley to get them on the LGW/MAN/GLA/LHR to LCA flights. It is a 757, easily recognisable through the sound of the engines.

erm brithish airways fly 767-300 to pafos and larnaca.

BA fly 763 on the LHR-LCA route and 734/319 or 320 on the LGW-PFO route. 767-300 of BA dont go any where near Paphos unless LCA is closed completeley.

diversion then from Laranca from Heathrow. BA sent 320/321 to PFO out of LGW up until March last year when they sold GB Airways to Easy Jet. Then they didnt start PFO up until this winter starting with 737 before moving onto Airbus family. BA would never send a 767-300 into Paphos at all. Please i tell you to go onto Airlners Net and do a search for 767-300 in Cyprus. All of them will turn up at Laranca with none at Paphos.

I flew on britannia 757 years ago, i remember that typical rr 757 whine, and remember thinking we were falling out of the sky when the engines seemed to calm down. Now I relise soon after take off, the engine power is brought back to about 90% rather full power! Its that falling feeling when the VSI changes!

getting a car is a must.driving up into the mountains was good.we actually had a chance to go to egypt for the day.that you must do,that was unreal.they hire speedboats out at paphos harbour by the hour.we got one out.that was execllent.have a good time.

I went to cyprus last year, and i think i seen that oil tanker! You know when you get the buses from Coral bay all the way to Aphrodite water park, do you see the tanker on the way? I was just down from coral bay!
