He's probably talking about interface. Some people like different interfaces. I love Korg interfaces, but have met people that swear by the Motif, and the Motif is a massively powerful keyboard, I didn't know, nor want to know how to start programming it.

Thank you Mr. Kay for introducing KARMA in my lifetime. It even sends all parameters through MIDI. But I have to say, all that the Oasys does beautifully, it does not replace the Wavestationsounds--not even close.

stephen kay is awsome to show the keyboard and there possibilties, he know to make demo in action, and he is a great performanceartist too.5+++++ great demo, and korg oasys is a awsome keyboard no doubt on that. yes take some time to get into this keyboard but when you do, you get ours of joy. have fun all korg oasys users out there.

agreed... Try the Tyros3 now :D Or the Motif XS. The Oasis isn't worth the extra amount of money compared to those two keyboards.

I own a Yamaha Morif XS8 and I had a Tyros 2. In my store I've got the Tyros 3. The sounds of that one are as good as the oasys sounds, but they are two complete different workstations... I'm not a huge fan of korg myself, but they produce decent stuff.

For about the same amount of cash, at the other end of the synth spectrum, I would have to get a macbeth M5N. Everything is laid out in front of you, no menus. This fella is good at his thing though. Some of his demos are like porn music, I was expecting the camera to pan round to 2 people going at it.

it does sound cheesy and.... well... you can get better sounds off softsynths... the korg sound is really punny.

i know i can't buy me the oasys because i have only money for the motif. but maybe i could buy me the M3. Does anybody knows if the M3 is also as good as the Oasys?

The M3 isn't even CLOSE! I had an M3, Triton AND the OASYS (it's a long story) and the M3 is MUFFLED in comparison to the OASYS. There IS no comparison. You get what you pay for. Period. For a lot of us OASYS owners, it's really about the interface and sound. I heard ONE Program and I was instantly sold on it! M3? There's NOTHING impressive about the M3 in comparison to the OASYS!

Oh and regards to not having the money, I don't wanna hear it. If your THAT serious in your music you will do WHATEVER it takes to get one. I have NO job, NO money and I STILL managed to get one. If you have a job, great! Go get a loan and just get one if your THAT serious about your music. If I can get one, ANYONE can and I got a CRAZY deal on mine. NOT used, by the way.

I love my OASYS but unfortunately i have no real studio boxes so i ordered them too. But the store will only restock at the 28december , so i have to wait till i can experience the real OASYS.

Yeah I wish, too. But I worked my ass off trying to get one, and quite frankly I've forgotten ALL about the price tag.

So instead of complaining about the price, save your cash and get one. I sold a TON of gear to get one and haven't looked back even for a second.
