  • I was on the same ship (USS Jason Ar-8) when these guys were getting together. We used to listen to them rehearse on the fantail deck. never thought they'd make it,though! that was many moons ago.

    told him how much I like the song. He e-mailed back and thanked me, and said I should

    listen to his new rendition of it and that I might like it even better because it has more feeling in it. So I did and I didn't, LOL.

  • @haybee12, Hi haybee, that's Sonny Webb and The Cascades in the photo, from Liverpool, they get confused with the original Cascades from America quite often.

  • @dpanther4 It's the foot of the Broadway Pier in San Diego. The original members of the band were all US Navy and played clubs on the weekends.

  • In Chicago, we had the Cryan Shames.

    SoCal had the Cascades, but the musicality is amazingly similar. I tried to post a link but it didn't work. Do a You Tube search of 'Could be We're in Love' by The Cryan Shames.Good place to start...

But we didn't know it,the promoter said 'learn it or you don't get paid!'We then found out why people had requesting the song.Instead of our full name,we'd been billed as 'the cascades' who'd had a big hit in he charts! We learnt it and honestly we ended up singing it on irish TV!'

  • Wow! The Cascades IS the sound of my early childhood, no doubt! This song's lingered on my mind throughout my life. It brings back so many lovely images. That's the song I loved to hear when I got back home, from school, with my brother! Before doing homework, doo-wop with The Cascades was always there, to inspire me! Great feelings! Thank you!

    I listened to this song and it listened to the record putting it many many times at the age of 16.

  • I remember the first time I heard this song was in a TV commercial of double arrow gum. I was 7 and thought " How refreshing this song is!" and I fell in love with it. Although I didn't find this song's name at that time, I remembered the melody. Then 11 years later. I heard this song once again in a cafe and I was thrilled!! Today, I heard this song on tv in a 60's song's commercial and I finally find the name for it!! It's called " Listen to the rhythm of falling rain"!

  • I remember when I was 3 years old. Seems like they played this song only when it was raining out. While my Mom would wax the kitchen floor, My older sister and I would use the kitchen chairs and build a fort with our blankets in the living room. It's cool when a song can jar your memories!

  • @dennello omg me and my sister used to make forts out of blankets and chairs too! but not while listening to this song lol. i dont usually listen to oldies but this is one of my favs. my parents used to play it when i was little and then i heard it again when i was older and really liked it. its a claaaaaassic :D

  • @aliceparsley1 Isn't that amazing! Just like marshmellowcup! Your a couple of years older then me it looks like. My Mom usually only kick us out of the house when she was tired of us  on any particular day.

  • @aliceparsley1 - Sounds very familiar;in our home;My Mom would say the same thing;one time she wouldn't let us in as she was washing the floor;we damn near froze to death before she let us in!!haha
