Ummmm, having served in the Navy and the US Army... the military (Army Marines,Navy, and Air Force even)... the coast guard isn't considered military, they's more like border patrol, cops (we call them) you really don't leave the coast too far, you guys don't train with weapons unless you're part of a special task force, you don't go to war.
