BRother it looks that you know how to play with the electric side of the JEtta!!.. (crazy) however.. I removed the front seat to be clean and unplagged them, to be complete removed. By the time I placed back and reconect plugs (while I was leasing to the radio) and them. I start the car and ride it.. and the FRONT AIRBAG light is on.. can you help me to take the light off.. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME
The air bag light is just an indicator that there's an issue with the Air Bag SRS System. Since you removed the one or both of the front seats, which contain airbags in them they are probably not being recognized by the ECU. I would make sure you connected all the wires up correctly under the seats, and the connectors are not damaged. If they are both good. Possibly disconnecting the battery for a few minutes MAY clear the light assuming everything is connected.
Someone suggested t o remove the traction control fuse, I think that might be a better idea because removing the MAF while running can damage the sensor.
I'd check the wheel speed sensors, chances are you damaged one of those drifting the Yaris. Could be a disconnected wire, broken sensor, or something else. That would be my best guess. You might have to get is scanned as those warning lights don't really tell you much.
@MrFROOODO Check your MAF it could be bad. Why there connected I dunno, but it happened to a friend of mine. His light was on, and it was really the MAF sensor that was bad. Id suggest find a friend with a good one, test on your car, then buy one, there kindof expensive.
My 2009 vw jetta has a esp button. It stands for electronic stability program. It is the same thing as traction control.. So when i press the esp button and it lights up, that means its on, but when it is not lit up, then it is not off? am i correct?
When the dash light is on, it means the vehicle will allow the wheels to slip. When flashing, it means the vehicle is attempting to reduce power in efforts to find traction. When the light is off, it means the system is ready and reacts to wheel slippage.
if the light is not on, your esp(which is stability control and traction control, which is controlled by your ABS) is in automatic mode. if you hit the gas to hard, or go into a corner too fast, and the light blinks at you, then its active. if you hit the ESP button and the light comes on all the time, your esp is inactive, but your anti lock is still active
How can I help? As far as I could tell, my car was improperly manufactured from the factory. Which is why I didn't have a ASR button. I found the wiring harness behind the dash, ordered a button from a junkyard. Now I have a working ASR button.
Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been on youtube for a while. I didn't find a fuse for traction control ONLY. Which is why I didn't even try and experiment that way. Most fuses were for multiple systems. If I remember right there was a fuse for the brake/abs system and the Electronic differential lock.
my car does the same thing if u unplug the MAF i was screwing around with it one day tryin to figure out if my MAF was bad and thats how i found out that works. im not sure if its safe? im surprized it didnt throw a CEL for ya!

i only have to press a button to disable traction, stability, and abs on my car

I believe it's just traction control that the button controls. You don't want to disable stability or ABS. Those might save you from a crash.
XholdstillX 2 years ago
"might"
for performance driving you want those aids off. or if you already can control your car well

I've found in the past, some cars have a fuse for traction control, which you can remove.
Does yours have this option?
