  • I can't say I agree with everything in this video, but I do agree with some of it, and even the stuff I disagree with I understand where you're coming from. If I may, though, I would like to say a word or two in defense of organized religion. First of all, I agree that there are parts of the Bible that probably were not meant to be taken literally. However, there are other passages for which a literal interpretation seems...

  • @Stardweller1 ...to be the only real possible explanation. Second, I see where your coming from with regard to the rules in many organized religions, but the rules don't have to be restrictive. In my Church, for example, a major emphasis is placed on freedom of choice. Yes, we have rules and guidelines to follow, but it is made clear in our teachings that following those rules or even the Commandments of God...

  • @Stardweller1 ...is a personal choice, though we are commanded to remember that there are consequences for our actions. Finally, I would like to point out some of the good things which have been done through organized religion. I realize that it has been used do commit a great many evil acts throughout history, such as the Crusades, the Inquisition, and more recently terrorist attacks, but on the other hand...

  • @Stardweller1 ...many religious organizations have been responsible for the building and running of hospitals, implementation of humanitarian missions, charitable organizations etc, and much of their motivation for doing so can be found in their teachings. Also, certain figures such as Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama are good examples of people who use their religion to create unity and love rather than division and prejudice. Anyway, in more words than I would have liked those are my thoughts.

  • @Stardweller1 Well it's good that they can do good to perhaps feel better for slaughtering millions and alienating billions. Congrats

  • @speed0spank It's only ever going to be as good or as evil as its people.

  • I'm bisexual I can't tell my parents or any of my friends I kno Jesus loves me and stuff I just wish I could tell people

  • as a gay man i would never want to change, i like the way i am, just because it might be harder in life doesn't mean it sucks.

another thought, ive never came across a straight person saying "i wish i was born gay" lol or "if i could i would choose to be gay"

    loved everything u said :)

  • some questions:

    1) why did you choose to go to a catholic school

    2) why do you think pple are born gay- I. mean what are your medical citations

    3) what advice or commands in the Bible do you think are good or relevant today (if any) ?

    4) Have you ever read the Bible chapters that talk about the meaning of love? Why not ?

    5) Have you ever taken a philosphy or comparative religion class.

  • I'm not sure I understand why everyone is saying to not take the bible literally. If your not going to take it literally then why bother even being concered about bashing what is in it. It exists to follow it, it is Gods word to be taken literally.

  • @pinktink0908 No one takes the bible completely literally! Even Christians who say the bible SHOULD be taken literally. For example: mixing fibers. How many Christians do you know that don't wear any modern fabrics because they blend fibers? How about death penalty (preferably by STONING) for any of the following crimes: adultery, astrology, being a disrespectful child, being a drunken son, blasphemy, breaking the Sabbath, or perjury; should THAT rule be taken literally?? Come on now.

  • @islamazon1

    Dont forget disobedient children.

  • you're a beautiful person risa. <3

  • I HATE organized religion. I believe it is up to the person as in pro choice and just because someone is raised into one religion does not mean they cannot change their mind when they turn 18 and can vote

  • haha 1000$ microscopes....

  • It s simply not the case. We should see nothing wrong with other types of sexuality whether it is a choice or not. For all i care people can choose to be gay. There is no reason to discriminate against one type of sexuality in favor of another.

  • Listen as far as i know it s a very dificult subject, whether it is a choice or not. It may well be that some gays are gay because of some hormonal process during their mother s pregnancy, while other become gay due to psychological 'causes'. Some ppl are bisexual, and there are other types of sexuality as well. I think that in any case, it still does not follow that any other sexual activity that is not heterosexual is wrong.

  • sry homosexuality is a choice like anyhthing else is.just like fuckin or loving ur cousin ....you have a choice

  • @Bongtasia No its not! People are born gay; the bible was written so long ago and it was NOT meant to be taken literally word for word

  • @Bongtasia no homosexuality is a sexual attraction, you can choose to never have sex however it iwll negitively affect your mental state of being, also it is scientificly proven that it is infact not a choice.

  • exactly.u reallly need run over your own words again.plz dont critisize ppl by theyre beliefs everyone is different in so many ways.try staying open-minded plz.its really a good way but ya i know this is only my opinion

  • @Bongtasia You are being close minded by saying being gay is a choice. Have you ever taken a history class? Separatio of Church and State is part of history because not everyone has the same beliefs. Therefore, you cannot make a law prohibiting gays from getting married

  • Hebrews 13:8 "God is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Times do not change or modernize.

You do have a free will to live as this or that. Unloving or intolerant parts of society stigmatizes all Christians as unaccepting.

  • You should check out native american/ canadian religion its so interesting its all about the spirituality of nature and honouring the past and future but being all accepting too I think you'd like it!

  • Wow... amazing point of view.

  • I love videos like this... people sharing their beliefs and opinions. But this video was taken way too far. You continued to bash Christians repeatedly and not all Christians are the "thou shalt not be homosexual". I love everyone, so it hurts when people think all Christians are judgemental.

  • I understand what you're saying, but I do have to disagree a bit (sorry). It's just that I am a Catholic, but I have always been taught (in Catholic school) not to take the bible literally. I am definetly liberal, but I need it as a "moral cumpus"...and I like the message of love <3. I think that it doesn't matter what religion you are, just whatever you need to be a good person. You are awesome btw!! :D

  • Neopaganism I think is the term for the Earth Religion.

  • The belief that everything in nature has a spirit comes from Shamanism, which comes from Animism, which is the earliest form of religion. A great set of beliefs, because it means everything is sacred and that's cool.

  • I was raised Catholic and baptised into a Catholic church but did not complete confirmation and no longer attend. You basically summed up how I feel about all of those topics, exactly. It's refreshing to see someone who has the same beliefs on this stuff. You rock Risa! <3

  • Risa, thanks so much for making this video. I'm a Christian and have often wanted to dialogue with people who don't believe in the Christian God. The problem is, in the same way that Christians can get bristly on this subject, non-Christians are equally passionate and emotions get in the way. So, I love hearing how your mind works. You seem to be a very intelligent, thoughtful person and a good representative of popular culture.

  • It's like you're in my Brain, seriously. that sounds retarded, or whatever but, the Label videos you have and now this, like everything you say I have said to people before, I believe in this 100%, Like the Bible, I believe in God 100% But the Bible to me, is Just like you said - A Guide. I think It wasn't suppose to be taken literately.

  • i agree with you on how God teaches love..i really really do agree..i really don;t get the whole hating gays bla bla bla..and i am a catholic myself. i think it's just dumb.

  • HippyL0ngst0cking Jesus was very specific that sodomy is a sin. Jesus said that no one is a truely a "good" person. Dont take christian teaching out of context, and cherry pick things, its not intellectually honest & neither is buddism.

It is totalitarian to state that our christian or cultural tradition which states marriage is between a man and a woman is redefined against our will.

I am not against equal rights, give them. I am against people usurping marriage for their own purposes.

  • This country was built by christians. what can you excpect?

  • I was born technically jewish in Hitler's eyes

    But I am not religious

I do read from our Haggadah every passover, but its mere tradition, it's not my beliefs.

I am also straight and an active member in the gay/straight alliance club at our school.

I completely agree with you on everything you said.

    People can be so ignorant!

  • people interpret religion in different ways because everyone is different. i read in a catholic book that to be a homosexual is not wrong but to pursue a relationship which involves sex is. to be attracted to the same sex is not a choice.

  • Yes catholic teaching states we have lots of base desires, we are supposed to use our minds and rationality to choose the good according to the teachings of the church revealed through Christ Jesus. Sodomy is a misuse of Sexual Intercourse. Love in the purest sense is asexual. Love is not the issue, misuse of our natural gifts is a sin for christians.

  • I am Christian and Bisexual.

I am proud of who I am and I know that society does brainwash you and I don't think the bible was meant to be taken literaly.Because, doesn't it say that your not supposed to eat a lot either?

There are so many things you can't do.

I believe that when we are young its automatically put into our heads that being homosexual is wrong.

And I don't believe thats true.

Because either way, I love God.

    And I'm a good person.

    And thats all that matters.

  • 1) Organized Religion is kind of... yeah. T.T;;

    2) Yes Jesus preached love. Everyone seems to over look the fact that Jesus did not judge people. (John3:17) So much for being "Christ-like"...

    3) Your friend that explained to you Sodom and Gomorrah sounds like a real Christian. Don't look at the others you mention in your video as an example of Christians.

  • Speechless once again. I can't find anything to disagree on yet. Perhaps I'm just not into worrying about petty things and I'm very accepting of most ideas.

  • imo thinking that all homosexuals are bad and going to hell is just as bad as thinking that all people who practice an organized religion are looking down on you or biased

im a christian but i would never shove my religion on people

life is too short to be arguing with people all the time

love IS love wether you decide to give it to somebody of the same sex or god its love and its a hell of alot better than hating or looking down on people

  • Chrsitianity is not religion. It's a lifestyle.

  • Beautiful.

  • im loving the modest mouse song near the beginning

i pretty much agree with you though. ive always thought organized was weird.

  • 7BeAsT9 - you fail :\

  • Comment removed

  • @jennienelson81 lol yes YOU are an idiot lol piss off dumb kiddo

  • @7BeAsT9 what's funny is even with my typos I am still far more intelligent than you. "start to be tolerating", spell "meant?"Who really gives a flying fuck what you think about who fucks who? Do you get fucked? lol probably not....at least not for free. So why don't you and your lack of tolerance move to a hut in the fucking woods and fuck your cousin....

  • @jennienelson81 Its to late to argue with some dumb motherfucking bitch so go now and eat shit or just die. You are more intelligent than me? lol in your dreams you fucktard. You are simple piece of shit for me. Now Im going to bed because its late and writing to fuckface like you is pure waste of time SO, die please you pity puttana.

  • @7BeAsT9 Fuck you and your country. If I'm a bitch your mother's a bitch ass whore who probably likes women, hence your negative feelings. The end.

  • @jennienelson81 JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU DUMB CUNT. I shit on you and your country cuz I hate fucked up places and fucked up people, for example people like you. Get a life you pathetic whore who sits in front of computer and using all free time! I dont give a fuck about you and your dumb country. All you do is pissing off others as your dumb country.

  • @7BeAsT9 .btw what does "you are to much tolerant ant this is bad" mean? Go back to west virginia and English as a second language class short bus...

  • @7BeAsT9 wow! an antigay atheist? there arent many of you around!

  • @MamaMario13 Is that weird to your world view that someone may be atheist and dont like gayness? For me it is not weird. Human can have different view on every aspect of life. Weird is your point of view on things. I dont like gays and those who tolerate that kind of mental disease. And because of that toleration they gather more and more rights. Those who dont care to see in future 2 man holding their hands and kissing in front of their adopted kids are f..... up too.

  • the bible was not meant to be taken literally. we have to look at it in a historical context. when leviticus says things about "man shall not sleep with man" we have to understand that these were people trying to build a society. they wanted to procreate. they had very basic needs. as long as we take the bible for what it is and understand that it is not still totally "relevant" to our time period, religion wouldnt cause so much hate and other bullshit. pardon my french.

  • you very much have the Bettie Page view on life, save for the fact that Bettie Page was a devout christian, but still, look at her career! For the time, and even now, to show your naked body is considered a "sin," and not only is it a "sin" but it was illegal! but she believed the same thing you do: if i'm living my life in a way that doesn't hurt anyone, then I don't understand what God would have a big problem with. I love that outlook on life, and I believe in it fully.

    Major kudos :)

  • WOW! You dont look 28....you look about 20...

  • yes you sure can talk! but i like what you said! glad you have 2 channels i had no idea!

  • You only touch on Christianity and Catholicism (intermixing them at that) and Orthodox Judaism. I feel like you shouldn't make a blanket statement about organized religion when addressing two sects of a religion and an extreme sect of another.

It's not that I disagree necessarily, I just think that to make your point you would need to have a knowledge far more vast.

  • animism i think would be a better word for what you described at the end.

how do they teach history in a chris. school when it involves the understanding of other religions and casts chris. in a bad light?

  • I whole-heartedly agree. I am a christian and I hate catholosizm because it makes the rest of christianity look bad; it's almost an occult. Catholics strait up dissobay the bible, it's pathetic.

  • i sooo agree with you i grew up catholic and i dislike the way that yea catholics follow the bible/church, then turn their back and do all these "sins" basicly doing what they prey not to do. make sense??

  • love should have no gender love is love

  • catholics and christians are different forms, christians dislikes the roman catholics. because christians dont believe in mary, your confusing alot of people

  • where did you get that Christians dont believe in mary we do believe in mary we just don't worship her like Catholics

  • Comment removed

  • your not born homosexual but you cant choose who you are atrackted too

  • thats bull people there are people that are borne that way as children they were different and there are some that are gay by choice but you can be borne that way too

  • Hey Risa. I just heard this and absolutely agreed with everything you said. I mean truly 100% (except for the Fern Gully thing LOL - haven't seen it). I'm glad I found this other site of yours. I'm a makeup fanatic and had no idea about this other side of you :-)

  • i dont want to sound mean or any thing btu @ 3:05, yes we are all created in God's own image and likeness but it is your duty as a human being to determine what is right and what is wrong. not saying being gay is wrong i'm just saying that God cares about everyone no matter if they are black, white , straight , gay, whatever, as long as they are doing what is right, everything will be ok

  • Please read my comments from the BOTTOM to the TOP as that is the order in which my comments were made.

  • Beyond that, what he is taught to HAVE TAUGHT, even though he didn't "teach it", is highly valuable to people in general and certainly to all people when such is followed. I.E. self sacrifice toward greater human benefit. Problem is what Jesus REALLY stood for, "self profit within one's lifetime", is too easily exploited and too obvious to those who understand his actual work. Thus no "advancement" can be made on Jesus life. Thus 2000+ years of backward living from the majority.

  • Jesus quote #1 importance:

"I have not come to bring peace, but the SWORD" Jesus states "I will set father against son, mother against daughter, YEA the very members of a family will be their own ENEMY..." hahaha. No joke, direct Jesus quote. He was an agent of ROME, and that's why descendants of Rome are TRAINED to worship him. In reality he was a total scum bag and his life wholly considered he would be a pariah to any so well considering.

  • Jesus was a total douche bag. Let me quote:

"He who has (money) will be given more and he will have an abundance. He who does not have (money), even what he has WILL BE TAKEN." to say the rich are getting richer, the poor, poorer. He told this to the "Apostles" in confidence, expecting they not share this "great knowledge" he shared with them. He walked away from 4000 person crowds saying he hoped they would NOT turn to "ask" for forgiveness from him... There's more.

  • Ok, i have no idea where you are getting these quotes, but either you are tweaking them and taking them out of context, or you did NOT get them from a reliable source.

  • Organized religion can pull in mega money(Catholic church)as shown in your Catholic school! I agree with your views on organized religion! : )

  • I don't necessarily think that gay people were born gay, but I think that it was determined my events that happened early in life, some that they can't remember. It is difficult to explain... But I do believe that it isn't a choice.

  • Lets entertain the idea for a second that god exists why would god write a book to explain how one should live their lives in a good way isnt it more important to know that you love others and accept the realities of the world because you choose to and not because some book tells you to? there is nothing wrong with loving another person whomever that other person is You dont decide that today youre going to love this person you just do and sexuality is just an expression of that love love=right

  • Exactly. You don't need God or a book to tell you right and wrong - you just need to think about whether you are going to cause any suffering or violate anyones rights. Being gay harms no-one and violates no-ones rights (unlike rape or child abuse) so how can it be wrong?

In the Bible God tells Abraham to sacrifice his son. Does that make it the right thing to do? Of course not! Right and wrong depend on logic, not on God.

  • Yes God did tell Abraham to sacrifice Issac, and since abraham was completley devoted to God he WAS going to sacrifice his son. God came to abraham and told him to stop. God used this as a test to see how loyal Abraham was.

  • Exactly my point. When Hitler's Generals were put on trial for war crimes their unacceptable defense was that they were 'only following orders'. Everyone, whether they are religious or atheist, should know that cutting the throat of your own child is wrong, but some religious people put obedience before morality. Likewise, we know that being gay harms no-one, whatever the Bible tells us - so we should put our own moral common sense before blind obedience to its sometimes misguided instructions.

  • I agreee.

  • Oh and btw, Hinduism is alot like what you were describing, I don't practice it, but I agree with its teachings pretty well.

  • I completely agree with you. I believe it was to lead to learning or Truth, not TAKEN to be truth.

  • I remember Fernguli! I think that's how it's spelled..

I think I agree with what you're saying. I was raised Sikh but I don't agree with a lot of what my temples preaches. So I'm just trying to find something to believe in that.. isn't biased in any way. :/

  • super duper off topic but i hear title and registration in the backround..i just learned it on the guitar :)

  • How does one speak ghetto exactly? Because I doubt you've ever even been to a ghetto and trust me, the I speak, isn't "ghetto". Yep I'm a pussy licking dyke and I LOVE it. More vagina pleasE!!! And yes I quite love my "funny" face and ugly eyes as you put it. Thanks for the compliments! And have a lovely day - you obviously need it troll - what a shame, how pathetic you are that you hide behind a fake account that use to troll. I pity you *sigh*

  • and you are a typical troll.

  • you're pathetic. if you dont like what she has to say... then fucking leave.

  • ferngali...i remember that movie.

  • They rape boys?!? How old are you? LMFAO Educate yourself please troll.

  • obviously you're the one not using your head aka thinking (had to spell that one out for you huh?)- nor actually listening to my videos so be gone asshole!

  • Great vid, I like people that use their brain......

    CHRISTIANS TO THE LIONS

  • I don't know, given one of my friends' parents, very devout in their religion, wanted to send him to a "camp" that would "fix" him and make him straight again and disowned him when he refused. It's just sickening how intolerant the world is, especially with who is sitting in office at the moment. It makes me disgusted sometimes with humanity, with how far we HAVEN'T come in EQUALITY and treating others with the same respect and privilege "straight" people are afforded.

  • It was pretty disgusting and disconcerting that they were trying to impress that on 12 year olds. I was lucky enough to grow up with my mother who is a very free-minded person but my father isn't. He's actually said to me that he believes "marriage should be between a man and a woman as it was written" and all I can think of is what if that were me, he was trying to take rights away from? Would he care?

  • I personally identify as pansexual, even though some get confused on what it means 'cause it's not really a recognized "label" in sexuality. But pansexual is described as basically not taking note of gender -- male, female, trans, et cetera -- and just feeling attraction and love for another soul. Some people say they're 'gender blind'. I too went to a school like yours, for my middle school years, and they made us go to church three times a week and some things they taught didn't sit well.

  • death cab <3

  • Mmm... so you know the Hail Mary, but not the pledge of allegiance. :X

but you brought up some really good points :)

  • I know right?!? lol but I think most of us americans - if we had to take the test that immigrants have to, to become citizens - would FAIL. I know I would!!! And Hail mary was just from hearing it for 4 years. Its crazy how things kind of just make their way into ones brain.

  • Some Christians don't try and push their beliefs on others granted most do but take me for instance. I have been raised christian all my life and believe in it 100% but i don't think homosexuality is evil or wrong I believe God loves you no matter who you are as long as you are a good person. now if you talk to the people at my church they might not agree

  • Again I find myself agreeing with everything you say. Im a total "blacksheep" with my fiance's parents. They are very strong in the christian faith, and I always get bibles and christian gifts from them even though they know my views.Like you said if its not hurting anyone people should be left to be happy and do what they want. I dont believe in any said religion but in spirituality/energy we put out there. To much blood has been spilt in the name of religion. Keep speaking your mind Risa! ^.*

  • G'day from Australia, Risa. Looks like I'm going to have to be the respectful yet dissenting opinion here :-) While I agree that Jesus encouraged us to love others, he first encouraged us to love God and accept His views on life and love. While the bible clearly and unequivocally states that homosexuality is an unacceptable practice, the bible also says that there is NO scale of better or worse when it comes to sin & that harbouring hate is as bad as comitting murder...

  • ...No one is perfect. We all have our foibles. And I believe that God, as Creator of everything we see (and don't), knows best when it comes to the way things work. The bible is often, and for good reason, likened to a userguide. It contains timeless truths that, when applied to life, bring us closer to God and teach us how to live more authentically spiritual lives...

  • ...This is such an emotive issue; I applaud you for speaking with such clarity. I'd love to enter a dialogue with you (and anyone else, for that matter), to toss ideas back and forward. Christians are, unfortunately, tarred with the same brush - which is a shame. The bible is often misrepresented. I don't claim to understand why God has set everything up the way he has, but I have the intellectual honesty to at least continue to accept the WHOLE...

  • ...whilst working through some issues, instead of picking and choosing what I like and what I didn't based on how I felt at the time, or what the majority of people thought should happen at any given point in time. As a Christian, Jesus asks me to love the person who happens to be gay, just as much as the person who happens to reject God entirely. I don't have to agree with everything a person does or says to love them, get along with them, and respect them as a person...

  • ...This seems to be the hardest thing for people to truly understand - that it is possible to 'agree to disagree' with someone, yet be their friend. That, as a Christian, I disagree entirely with homosexuality - but that it seriously doesn't affect my ability to love and interract with gays and lesbians. Anyway, getting off my soapbox now *laughs* *HUGS to all*

  • religion = great on a personal level.

religion = WORST EVER on an organized level. Seriously.

  • i completely agree with everything you said in this. infact, what you said about the separation of church and state is my exact arguement. im a straight woman. i just wish every one could love each other for being themselves.almost all of my family/friends dont feel the way i do about prop 8(from CA) but ill argue it till im blue in the face. i just dont understand how people can really think they should be able to say weither or not 2 people who love each other can get married..

  • damn i have the exact same thoughts as you on everything you said! im favoriting this!

  • Wow, I agree with you 100%...on everything! Even your spiritual beliefs! I was raised Jehovah's Witness which are very Bible-literal, but I rejected those beliefs as an adult and am just doing my own thing now. I feel like god is not a person, but god is an energy of love residing in everything...the earth, the wind, the universe. :) Seeing people be so hard on themselves for not living up to the Bible makes me so sad. And when they hurt other people, so angry! :(

  • I went to Catholic school from pre-school through high school. It was awful because everything that the catholic church is against, I'm for. I'm not intentionally trying to be difficult, that's just the way I think. My family members are strict catholics and I'm the oddball of the group because my belief system is so radically different, so family gatherings can be a little odd...

  • i'm Catholic and i went to Catholic school all my life i know that Catholics are some of the strictest, against-everything kindof Christians, BUT

i believe the same sorts of things you do. the anti-gay stance boggles my mind because Jesus wants us to love EVERYONE. i'm what's considered a "cafeteria Catholic" - i kindof pick and choose what i believe. xD

    great vlog, Risa!

  • i loove love love ferngully!

  • when i watched your make up vids i could just tell your personality was amazing, then i saw the one where you talked about your past and your health and i had so much respect for you and i could tell why you were so awesome. now that i hear you talking about these issues and how similar our views are i just couldn't adore you more! so glad i came across u on youtube!

  • omgosh i love Ferngully!!

  • what's prop 8? sorry i dont live in the U.S so i dont really know.

  • Thats the argument I always use separation of church and state....plus anyone who is gay is born that way I really dont think one would choose to be gay and live their life in a more difficult manner like you said!

  • i agree with how you feel about the bible. i think its all metaphors and its about how you interpret it.

  • homosexuality is genetic :)

you should read "Genome" by Matt Ridley. if you're a science nerd you'll get right into it. it's not expensive ($24AUD) and i'm being serious you'll find it so interesting.

i'd send you my copy but i need it for Uni!

i also agree with your religious views. the catholic high schools in Australia (or at least South Australia) are seriously strict. in one school near me my friend would have to line up everyday and get their skirt lengths checked.

  • I hear you on Catholic schools. I went to an all girls catholic school for high school (6 years in australia), Im the same, was never brought up with any sort of religious belief, so it was very tough to be around it so much. I love this channel, I'm really happy to see someone speaking out about the issues that matter (in my opinion).

  • i totally agree!

  • I love how absolutely similar our religious opinions are.

  • totally agree

on a side note...love that death cab song

  • it was great hearing your views, I agree with everything you said

  • thank you for sharing your self and your beliefs with us<3

  • yeah, i agree.

i'm a christian and i have my certain beliefs and i make certain decisions that are best for me but i have a problem with people always trying to push stuff on other people. like for example i have chosen to be a virgin untill marriage but that is just whats right for me. but i feel like why i should i have to announce it to everyone and make others try to do the same, it might not be right for them i dont know its all a very lengthy subject haha..

  • Compleatly agree with everything you just said. How could anyone be upset about people loving eachother?

  • Did you got to catholic school in SF?? Our views are sooo much alike!!

  • Yep! Sacred Heart (prep, not convent)

  • Thank you for sharing your beliefs with us Risa.

  • i totally agree with you!

  • Well, I'm a lesbian and I'll tell you straight up it's not my choice. A straight lifestyle is much easier to live as I did so for the first 22 years of my life, but something always was missing, I was never truly happy with any guy, never had good sex, and I felt like I was living a lie. I felt more connected with women and always was attracted to them but never fully admitted it to myself enough to live and just be myself until I was 22. Sooooooo I guess I'm a "sick person".

  • And let me just say that if anything - the first 22 years of my life were my "identity crisis" because I was not secure in or loving of who I really was. It wasn't until I had Leukemia and almost died that I realized "Fuck. Life is short. Too short for me not to really be ME. And truly embrace who I am as a person." And I'll also say I believe it's genetic (hence born with it) - my aunt is gay, 2 of my cousins are gay, and my uncle is gay.

  • i think people need to realize that gay people lead perfectly normal lives. my aunt and her partner are the most normal people in my family-- they make the rest of us look insane!

    5 stars for "lightspeed"

  • wow that was deep.

  • i agree. i am a christian but i am pro-equality and am for loving whoever you love :]

  • lol i totally agree with you with everything...

  • thats funny because im christian and im totally ookay about the whole homosexuality!

  • So youre actually living what Jesus preached and loving /accepting your neighbor. ^5 ;)

  • Yea because in the Bible it says that you have to love everyone and not say anything about his appearance, there is a whole chapter about it and thats what i remember not the small line saying crazy stuff about your OWN self, because jesus did not say that but other people. (like not go out while you have your periods ofr something :o)

  • omg, you are so amazing. haha, i agree with you 100%

  • I just want to say that Catholicism does not teach that the bible is to be taken literally like you say it does. And I know a lot of Christians like your friend, there's a whole bunch of us out there. I understand where you're coming from, but you should probably learn more about Catholicism and other religions before talking about them, and you should also show acceptance of others beliefs as well, because you're judging them too.

  • I was speaking solely on my experiences and primarily - in regards to catholicism and christianity MY experiences have been that they do take the bible quite literally. In fact, in 28 years, my roomate was the first practicing Christian who was truly living as Jesus preached. Personally, I had 4 years of being told that the bible was the end all be all and yes, it was true and yes, you had to live your life by it or you were a sinner and if you did not repent you would not find yourself at the

  • pearly gates when your "day of judgement" came. Do I believe that all christians and catholics are like that? No. Individually - definitely not. But every church I've been to - and I have been to quite a few, along with the school I attended (organizations - not individuals) preached what I talked about.

  • @zannybato She never said all Christians do this. There are different forms of Christianity and everyone is different with their beliefs

  • God is Love. Love is tolerance.

I'm straight but, I don't care if people love girls, boys, both, cats (no kidding lol), or are drag queen, trans. I study psychology since 3 years and no homosexuality is not a disease. It's natural.

People can say whatever they want with the bible that's the problem.

I do believe in another God : God of Makeup lmao !

I love your makeup now I love your personality !

    Love from France,

    xoxo

    Claire

  • I'm a science nerd too lol. My dad is a chemist and my mum a biologist. Genes maybe haha.

I'm catholic but I'm really opened minded. And my parents... they believe in science haha. I'm french so it's a huge difference compared to the US.

One of my bff is gay and I just simply love him. Homosexuality is not a choice it's the same as for heterosexuality.

You don't wake up one day and say : "Oh you know what ? Today I wanna be gay !" Hell the f no ! It doesn't work like this ! lol

  • lol theres a funny video I found in regards to that. I'll post this as a response to it. :)

  • Ok ! I'll watch the vid :)

  • Lmao ! I just watched it haha that was really funny !

  • ur making me want a tongue piercing too lol

  • omg modest mouse! i love you more and more lol

  • I understand your point but what did you expect going to a Catholic school? I live in Ireland and have gone to this same school since I was 4 and it's a private Catholic school it has a uniform and is all girls and this year I'm going into 5th year (11th grade I believe) and moving to a different school thats unisex and non-uniform it's for personal reasons nothing to do with the fact my school is Catholic but I'm still going to go to mass every Sunday. It's obviously strange because your not

  • Catholic and you weren't raised that way but I get so much shit for being a practicing Catholic when people see my cross and chain they're like "are you like really religious or something?" and when I say yes they look at me strange or just walk away. I'm not talking about you Risa I think your great and from what I have seen non judgemental but I'm just so sick of people thinking they know me and thinking they can judge me because I wear a cross around my neck.

  • I'll stop in a minute but I just want to say that all Christians arn't like the ones you've said you met. I mean I'm extremely open minded I have no problem with same sex relationships and marriage my feelings on that are that as a child coming from a "broken home" I would prefer to see two people who are the same sex who love each other get married rather then a man and a women settling and separating.

  • Sorry it took 3 comments but I needed to Say that.. I respect you and i think you are amazing.

  • The priest answer to me that NO he was not going to be able to eat that thing because he was living in sin. I asked him If my brother were married with the girl´s mother and they would hit and abuse the girl Were they able to eat the host? He answered me that if they confessed and regret their sins they would be able to do it. I laughed so hard apparently you can hit somebody and abuse that person but if you confess you are Ok but If you don´t get married "the right way" you are living in sin

  • I agree with every single thing you said. I will never understand how people can blindly live their lives by what's written in a book.

  • All people in organized religions don't blindly live their lives according to whichever book. Catholicism, for example, encourages its participants to question the religion over and over and by doing so come closer to God.

  • Im aware that not ALL people in organized religions blindly live according to the bible. But in MY experience - which is what Im talking about - my years in catholic school - HELL NO! We were NEVER encouraged to question ANYTHING. My religion teachers always "disliked" me because I brought up the taboo subjects and did question what they were teaching. Which in turn made my other classmate say "hey, yea. what about that?!" It was -"there is no questioning - the bible states very clearly x,y &z

  • The Catholic Church has gone through a lot of change within the past ten-twenty-thirty years, and within the Church there has been a lot of mistakes, especially in how they teach their religion courses and who they allow to teach those courses. A lot of the time there aren't people who are qualified enough to teach about the Church and related things, and that's when situations like yours occurand when a questioning nature is discouraged. I didn't mean the previous comment towards you, I meant
