@CPKmarcus Ok, i get your point. But here in Italy someone says the same thing about Inzaghi. According to me the strength of players like them is not in their football skills, but just in their talent to get free by marking. Sometimes you see them completely unmarked and you say "But what kind of defense is that???". Then you watch the replay, and you see Toni, or Inzaghi, or Trezeguet avoiding marking making some great movements.

@willyminor ok thats a good point to be a top striker you need to have good movement its next to impossible to be a good striker without knowing how to lose a marker or get into space but what im saying is that his finishing just isnt good enough to be considered a great striker, because when you get those games where your team only creates 2 or 3 chances throughout the whole match you have to get it right on your first go and to me that is what decides a great striker someone who can score a

@willyminor goal when only given that one chance in a game because it is these games that usually decide a season not when a team wins 6-0 or 7-0 and the striker gets 3 goals to me that doesnt make him a great striker but if he scores the only goal in a 1-0 that makes him a great striker do you get what i mean? :)

HAHA I wasn't aware that was sarcasm... There's a difference between being an effective soccer player and a talented soccer player. He's only effective, and still not as effective as most top forwards in the world. Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o, Tierry Henry, Fernando Torres, Robinho, Raul, Berbatov, Anelka, Benzema, Pato, Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and Ibrahimovic are all much more talented in addition to being more effective than Luca Toni.

You should also take into account the teams all those players play on. Palermo & Fiorentina at the time Luca Toni was on there weren't exactly top teams. BTW When he socred his 30 goals in Serie A I believe all or most of those players you mentioned scored fewer goals.
