  • what if she roared like the mgm logo?

  • 1970

  • Whoa, this is pretty good quality for 1970. Did you get this off of like, the original master film or something?

  • =(=^.^=)=

(Just felt like drawing that 'cause kitties are so cute)

  • Your one of those!

  • They should have given Mimsie an emmy.

  • Cool my friend. Cheers G.

  • *meow! XD...love it!

  • I love MTM. Cute kitty.

  • This was the best show. I used to watch it every Saturday night. I loved Mimsie's cat logo. She looks like my cat Samatha. They don't make shows like this anymore. They are crime and medical shows.

  • I got 2 seasons of Mary tyler moore show

but I put it on but it wont play

  • Meow. :D

  • looks like my friend's cat hopper. =D

  • look! It's Hopper!^_^

  • @tailslvr. ahhh, that's a good one! :)

  • Aww.......Kitty

  • @Joe35983 such a cute orange tabby

  • Mimsie looks like my cat Whiskie. I actually have 2 cats and a very hyper dog.

  • @dd2000fanatic I too have a cat that resembles Mimsie named Lightning.

  • That sound was like nails on a chalkboard for me while I was growing up.

  • Just Between Friends, which MTM produced, MGM owns that film by default, after Orion Pictures merged with MGM in 1997.

  • Seriously - can a cat like Mimsie live for 20 or more years if cared for?

  • nice quailty

  • I think pilot episodes are the first episodes. right?

  • Yes, the first episodes produced (though not always the first aired).

  • yep they call them pilots because they make the show TAKE OFF!

  • This IS from a DVD, the definition looks pretty high. too high for 1970

  • Yes, from the pilot episode.

  • This surprisingly appears on a "Family Guy" episode called "420", originally broadcasted on April 19, 2009.

  • For the record, MTM was Mary Tyler Moore's production company and the logo is meant to parody MGM's Leo the Lion. The cat was named Mismie and was in real life Mary Tyler Moore's cat. MTM and MGM are not related. MTM is owned by 20th Century Fox. While Fox distributes some of MGM's DVDs, Sony is part of Owner of MGM but Fox has no controlling interest.

  • Unless Newscorp decised to part buy MGM, cause there's been a lot of rumors about that, but that's hard to say at this moment.

  • Yeah, Yeah Mimsie's cute but the picture is too bright

  • Mimsey's sooooooo cute! Meow!

  • mimsie died in about 1988

  • meow.

  • That's all you gonna say? This ain't no comment. You shoulda put: She has a great meow.

  • MTM is owned by News coproration.

  • So what?

  • "So what?" What do mean, "So What"? All I was saying was that MTM was bought out by News Corporation in 1998, because 1985Nebraska asked if MTM was owned by MGM Studios, and I tried to tell him that it was owned by News Corp.

  • News Corp? Wow. That's History. I forgot when Mimzie died?

  • MimSie died in 1988, the very last episode of "St. Elsewhere".

  • If Mimsie died in 1988, was Mimsie a boy or a girl? What does MTM stand for anyway.

  • Well, I think Mimsie was a girl, first of all. And second of all, look at Tlogos's description of where this logo came from- the show(and the actress)'s name should be the hint to you of what MTM actually stands for.

  • Mary Tyler Moore.

  • @sourcubes51 Mary Tyler Moore. LOL

  • Isn't MTM Enterprises Inc. owned by MGM Studios? Because I think it is. Since MGM has the roaring lion for its studio logo, MTM has that meowing kitten for their studio logo. I'd like to know if MGM does own MTM.

  • I'm pretty sure MTM is a separate enterprise from MGM. Mary Tyler Moore and her husband at the time created their own MTM studios for The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and I think a couple of other shows. I learned this from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" Biography on Biography channel. :D

  • I have absolutely no idea why, but this unnerved me a little when I was young. It doesn't make any sense why.

  • Maybe because it was really bright, loud and fast? Those types of logos will usually catch you off guard.

  • You're probably right. But why no one else?

  • It wasn't just you. The MTM meow was like nails on a chalkboard to me when I was young. I thought I was the only one. Nice to know it wasn't just me. Thank you!

  • I agree but I got over it, mostly because it's just a cute tiny lil kitten just like my tiny lil kitten Katherine

  • I wouldn't say it "unnerved" me, but I always found it a little sad, in a vague way. There's something about a little kitten crying that sort of tugs at the heartstrings.

I wonder how long Mimsie lived?

  • 20 years.

  • Until 1988. That's what I heard.

  • @mdumas43073 Mimsy Lived til 1988 and left this world a happy and beloved kitty in the Television world.

  • @Fieldsfangirl28 Aww poor kitty! I figured she died sometime in the 80's! It is too bad she is not still here! :)

  • OMG ME TO!! sad but happy...wierd feeling...shes only a kitten and kitties only lived on average to be about 15-16...so she probably had a very healthy and cute life :)

  • @mdumas43073 I don't know if it was crying, but yeah

And I think Mimsie died around the St. Elsewhere finale, because it was kinda ironic (in a sad way) that the Mimsie in the credits for that finale was flatlined right when the actual Mimsie died

    But I'm not sure

  • @mdumas43073 i totally agree about the "little sad in a vague way" and "tugs at the heartstrings" comment. I'm a sucker for cats and kittens so really all I wanna do is pick up Mimsie, give her a good pet, and let her nap in my lap.

    She lived 20 years! ('68-'88)

  • i miss little mimsie

  • I read that Mimsie lived to be 20 years old

  • Can you upload the MTM logo from A Little Sex?

  • Do you have the entire closing theme from MTM in 1970? thanks.

  • Mimsie is so cute!! I just love her!

  • Same here!

  • Yes, she is adorable!

  • nice quality

  • That logo scared me when Mimsie goes "Meow!".

  • You should see the "A Little Sex" variant.

  • mtm means Mary Tyler Moore not Metro Goldwyn Mayer

  • It would have to. It's not MGM.

  • And of course, MTM is a parody of MGM. Interestingly, Fox now owns the MTM library AND DVD distribution rights for MGM releases.

  • I love that Logo!

  • My kitten Lightning looks like Mimsie

  • Interesting.

  • here kitty kitty

  • What does MTM stand for? I mean the company, not the Mary Tyler Moore show.

  • Actually, It stands for Mary Tyler Moore. Believe Me.

  • okay!

  • yep. she and her then-husband founded the company specifically to produce the Mary Tyler Moore show.

  • I'll say, this is literally the clearest capture of the MTM logo that I've seen.

  • That must be taken from a DVD, eh!

  • Purr!!!

  • cute little kitty!
