  • Every role he played was filled with passion. He never had a bad performance. He is missed!

  • never been given a great role? what is he talking about? Peter Moralas in Mystery Street and Pablo Rodriguez in Border Incident are both tremendous roles.

Mr Roarke, for all it's smaltz, wasn't half bad either.

  • @gogilesgo

Not to forget his epicness as Khan Nonnian Sing!

  • RIP Khan N. Singh

  • we will miss your acting

  • He was a demi-god..

  • Great actor, great man. Greatly under rated. He made every role he played amazing!

  • Ricardo Rules!!!!!!!!!! No Shit.I Appreciate his Honesty.

  • Just listening to him speak, you can tell how great of a man he is.

  • This artist could read recipes from Betty Crocker and it would be the most passionate bad ass throw down you've ever heard. he will be missed and forever remembered! oh and p.s. how cool is it to hear his best role was playing Khan?

  • "Laugh with me! Laugh with me!"

  • What a pro. He may not have considered Khan to be a great screen role, but I'll bet millions of Star Trek fans would disagree.

  • KHAN!!!!!!! this guy is pretty much the most epic human to ever walk the face of this planet...or any other for that matter!

  • He died on my 19th birthday. It was the worst birthday I've ever had. RIP Ricardo.

Space just got warmer with his spirit.

  • I just found out this moment that he had died...this really sucks.

  • KHAAAAN!

    What a legend R.I.P

  • DAMN I wish i had this guy's voice!!!!!!

  • The best advice ive ever heard to any aspiring actor or any field. What a great actor he was. RIP

  • Hard to believe that he was paralyzed from the waist down. He indured excruiating back pain for decades and in 1993 after a 91/2 hour operation he was left partially paralyzed. This man was tough as nails. All Mexicans and Americans should be proud of him - I sure am.

  • @tomcat28563 Actually, as a Brit, I'd say all humnas should be proud of him. The man was larger than his legend!

  • the guy was a fuckin pimp, and running at 100% until the day of his death. i mean just look at him, he's ALL THERE. no senility or lose of dexerity what so ever.

we could only hope to grow old that gracefully.

"he task's me, he tasks me and i shall have him"

  • @MpowerdAPE "I'll chase him around the Moons of Nibia and around the Arterus Maelstrom before I give him up" (breathes through nostrils and recomposes himself) "Prepare to alter course"

  • @MpowerdAPE In Holland we had a guy just like that, Jos Brink look it up

  • Rich Corinthian leather!

  • yeah i love that comercial..and what an acent and marvelous intonation:

    "Rich Corinthinan Leather!"

    La Raza Unita!

  • i love him he was a great actor and i wish he was still alive i would have loved to meet him.

  • My god!!! He still looked that great in 2002!!!! He was The man!!!!

  • Nice with the Fantasy Island intro, that made me smile.

  • In the early Warner Bros. noir collection, Ricardo looked a lot like the young Sean Connery...and those noir collections are a knockout. Go front projections folks...around 80 inches...a little hi fi sound, and you'll flip out....

  • Seems like a real gentleman....

  • From Hell's heart, I stab at thee!!

    KHAAAAAN!!!

  • KHAN!!!!

  • He passed away on my 40th birthday. RIP Khan

  • i second that!!! and third it and fourth it!!! His advice goes for anyone getting into any section of the Arts.

  • True. Unless you absolutely cannot survive without doing it, don't. The business will eat you alive.

  • He was also Zack Powers in The Colbys.

  • So many of us sci-fi guys remember him as Khan. Others, see him for what he really is, which is a wonderful person, gentlemen.

...Man, us sci-fi guys didn't have an accurate representation of him =P

But honestly, incredible actor... and a real shame, a real loss. What a wonderful person.

  • Mis condolencias a la maravillosa familia que el y Georgette crearon.

  • Muchas gracias por poner a Don Montalban en aqui.

    Thanks

  • Oh snap I didn't know Ricardo Montalban was dead!

I remember going in the house early when Fantasy Island came on!

    RIP Mr Rourke

  • I love his voice

  • Ricardo always played a gentleman. Those wonderful technicolor movies in the forties were great.

  • >kirk blasting into the communicator..."

    KHAN!

  • KHAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wish I had met Mr. Ricardo Montalban, but unfortunately, I never had the chance. He always sounded so humble, sincere and honest. I read his book, and I loved it. There were so many things I could relate to. I was in Buffalo, New York when he was still doing Fantasy Island, and one day I decided to send him a card for his birthday. The days went by, and one day when I opened my mailbox, I found a big envelope from him. He had sent me his autograph. I could not believe my eyes!

  • Next to James Earl Jones, Morgan Freeman, Arnold Schawtznegger, and Don Lafountain(movie trailer guy)

Ricardo's voice is one the voice I would love to have

  • Amazing how he speaks the truth.

  • This guy was awesome!!!

  • and will always be remembered as awesome!!!

  • Met the man himself in 2002.over 1000 people were there to get autographs,i was the very last 1 in line.he gave me his autographed pic, then looked up at me,i said "thank you sir,you look amazing.he raised his hand in true montalban style and said loudly."YES, OH YES"i made his day and he made mine.he was the best.

  • Ricardo Montalban was the man

  • Ricardo Montalban was one of the least utilized & talented actors in Hollywood.

When he commented about his role in Wrath of Khan - he is absolutely right. With that limited role, he 'made' that movie. Imagine how many other movies he could have contributed to?

Hollywood bias, but that said, his attitude and life is an example to others.

Rest in Peace, truly one of the Greats actors of our time.

  • I'll take it a step further. He MADE the Star Trek movie franchise. Star Trek 'The Motion Picture' was a flop. Horrible movie. If not for the brilliant performance by Ricardo 'Wrath of Khan' would not have worked. But because of his legendary on-screen performance the movie is a classic and paved the way for many more Star Trek films.

I agree totally that his talent was underused severely.

  • Well Ricardo's great performance does help a lot. But I don't think he's the movies only great strength. I think the themes of the movie are great as well as the emphasis on kirk and spock's friendship.

  • The Maxwells are stingy with their coffee. I've been over their house a million times and all they offered me was tequila. Ricardo Montalban was the only actor whose claim of being Ricardo Montalban would I believe.

  • Que descanses en paz. Ha dejado un buen legado en muchas vidas que han presenciado su arte.

  • rip ricardo. naked gun and fantasy island were great.

  • you'll be missed god bless.

  • He'll be missed.

  • God Bless you Ricardo Montalvan RIP.

  • It was great seeing him return as Khan with such a wonderful vengeance for Kirk.

"Ah, Kirk my old friend, have you ever heard the ancient Klingon proverb which tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold?

    ....It is very cold....in Space."

    Rest in peace, sir.

  • Rest in peace in heaven above, Ricardo Montalban, I won't forget you

  • he was awesome rip

  • R.I.P.

  • I liked his role as Khan in "Wrath of Khan" episode of Star Trek. One of my role models, along with Tony Soprano, to some extent. And Captain Kirk and Spock, of course.

  • Resto en paz mi amigo.

  • hmm... that would be "descansa en paz..."

    anyway, I second that.

  • I loved Ricardo's role in the classic black and white movie "The Reluctant Saint". I'm sure he is with God, Mary and all the Saints in Heaven.

  • thanks, I will never forget Fantasy Island, may he rest in peace 88, led a good solid life
