Ok, honestly, you don't know what your doing.

And, if you want a tighter curl, you still only rotate it 180 degrees, you just move the flat iron down the hair slower. The slower you move it, the tighter it will be.

when i did this, it didnt work for me. i have thicker hair, but i had to turn the heat way up (i have the same pink solia) and ha to go reaaallly slow, which i felt was damaging my hair more than messessary. thanks anyway, though!

There is a better way to do this, there are lots of videos on youtube showing you how. Its a bit more complicated but I got better results. And if you have thicker hair, instead of going slower, which is most likely causing more damage to your hair, you should use smaller sections, which takes more time, but is definitely worth it. I have a CHI flat iron and I can NOT seem to get a curl in my hair. Ive watched numerous videos and tried quit a few times but i aalways seem to get th8is odd wave in my hair that is not like i want, not anyone would want. I have regular hair, a lil past shoulder length. If you can make a more discrpitive video showing what i may be doing wrong and showing how to correct the mistakes you think may be being made that'd help soo much. I do what you did in the video but it is not working.

I don't know if it's tooo late to answer this question since it's 2 months old already. You can use matte paper, (regular line paper) and fold it like a barell. then you wrap your hair around the barell and just clamp your straightner on your hair.. make sure you get enough heat on every piece of hair. it works on any hair! :D

Yeah. The curls even stay in overnight. They settle a little, but my hair normally never stays curled with my curling iron.
