Is Unbuntu the easiest version of Linux to install? There seems to be many versions of Linux. What's the closest version of Linux compared to Windows if I wanted to use Linux in a classroom?
When I'm trying to finish the installation process, after reboot I choose to start with Ubuntu instead of Windows, I just get a black screen, could that be from downloading the wrong version?
I have an autorun/Recycler virus not allowing me to open up files on my external harddrive. I unhidden these files but windows xp won't let me delete these files. I was told that i should run linux from a disk and and delete the virus that way. how do i do that?
is it ok to just completely overwrite Windows OS with a Linux distro? i was wondering because my laptop is repeatedly crashing from annoying viruses my stupid cousin put on it :\
@chavezery09 Yeah, actually if you mount an ISO to a disk or USB it'll give you the option to wipe the hard drive and install Ubuntu. You need to backup data if you do this.
This is not every version of Linux, because there are 100's of Linux distributions... Like Linux Mint, MoonOS, Gentoo, openSUSE and tons more... go to distrowatch(dot)com ...
Good work on the video, I would point out if you download the CD ISO the WUBI is included as part of the CD , and I install faster... Linux Mint also has WUBI built in to the install CD ...
there's also another way that allows even more Operating Systems it's VirtualBox, but i would suggest it to just use it as a trial or something not to actually run it all the time cause it wouldn't really be at it's right performance.
@connorxx99 Yes, it's very easy. When you turn off your computer and turn it back on select Windows. And if you want to uninstall Linux just go to Control Panel<Add or Remove Programs on Windows and find Ubuntu or Kubuntu or whatever you installed and click it and click uninstall.
I got a computer that's not on the net and when I try to instal Umbuntu ith the status bar goes fast to 385% and then just stayed there for like four hours saying something like "configuring network" . The windows that's on it is riddled with malware so I, don't know?
When I boot up my computer, and select "Ubtunu", I can get to to installing it, but it stops at the partitioning window, and it says that there's an error because I'm missing the "root system file". Any idea on how to fix it..?
It might say that at first but then it decreases after a minute. If not, you just have a really slow internet connection or you selected like 20 gigs as the installation size. I'd just say 3gigs for the installation size.
Linux is a different operating system. Like there is Windows 7, Windows Vista, MAC OS X, Linux. But what separates Linux from all the other operating systems is that it is 100% free.
wtf ur intro was 50 seconds long, that was like 1/10 of the video..... way too long
