  • LSKennedy78 -- how right you are!! Psycho, The Day The Earth Stood Still, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, It Happens Every Spring, Here Comes Mr.Jordan, Casablanca, the first half of The Wizard of Oz, all 4 star classics in my opinion and all black and white. dozens more!

  • Forget it

  • Tell you what to do... get yourself 100 cigarettes for the kraut guards, then get yourself another face.

  • this is my Favorite War movie

  • Great movies have great endings. This and shane and on the waterfront. Good stuff.

  • Peter Graves played a very believeabe detestable character in this movie, not his usual role. What a great actor he was!

  • If it was remade there would be some gay liberal message behind it. Just leave it.

  • Holden's hair-trigger performance is the greatest (and he's playing the star-making kind of bad/good guy that made Bogart a legend); dunno if Spacey's got the moxie but it would be fun to see him try. Meanwhile, this is Holden's Oscar-winner, and I'm loving every minute. Thanks for posting!

  • luv this movie. luv billy wilder and luv william holden who looks like my father. great performance by holden, won the academy award for best actor. but what i really get a kick out of is the numerous references to CLEVELAND. billy wilder, had some strange connection with CLEVELAND and OHIO. HIS 1966 movie the FORTUNE COOKIE involved the city of CLEVELAND and the CLEVELAND BROWNS.

  • @801liveable

Don't forget "Sunset Boulevard." "Joe Gillis," also William Holden, was from Dayton, OH.

Also "C.C. Baxter" in "The Apartment," Jack Lemmon, was from Cleveland, I believe.

Does anyone out there know why cities in Ohio were quite frequent in Billy Wilder movies?

  • Remake? Shittin me!

  • If you stand in the water or drink water too much there is a 100% probability that you will pee. Which means the entire Stalag ate/drank Dunbar's LOL.

  • yes this is one of my favorites simple fact is and all star cast ty for the upload a true movie classic

  • 5:59..."I think I'm in love!"

  • From 5:43

Duke: Brother, were we all wet about you...

    Sefton: Forget it.

    *Duke's Smiles*

Sefton to Animal & Harry: "Get yourself another Face!"

Duke: "Kid's got no sense of Humor." That's Classic

I don't know the ages of those who liked this or who posted positively but I'm 25 & I Believe this to be maybe my favorite film of all time. My Friends think its A Crap Film. My Friends are Stupid & Blind. They just don't see how I could watch a B&W film from 1952.

  • @shaolinwisdom I'm 15 and this has to be at the top of my favourites list. I watched it twice and and can watch it again another twenty times, like I did 'Where Eagles Dare'.

  • @shaolinwisdom

A good movie is a good movie...whether in color or black 'n white!

  • @shaolinwisdom I'm 23 right now, but I saw this on VHS back when I around 12 or so, and I loved this movie. It's too impressive to dislike. If anyone dislikes this movie just because it's B&W, they're fools. Many great movies are from the Black & White era...

  • Shut up with that moaning or you'll have the machine guns on us!

  • The little grin from Sefton at 1:27...he's like, "Oh...Price is SOOOOO screwed!"

  • no freaking remake!!!!! this movie kicks too much ass and was perfectly made to be remade.

  • "Fell right on my head!"

  • He was in that water tank for hours... ya think he peed in their water supply?

  • if i run into any one of you bums on a street corner, just lets pretend we never met before.

  • He's a Nazi, Price is!

  • Best. Bitch Slap. Ever!

  • The obvious question is this: How did Septin find out all of this infor on Price?

  • @CC41DZ My problem is when Price says it was 6:00, revealing he was in Berlin at the time. Any infiltrator like this would be exceptional at attention to detail, and would never make such an obvious mistake.

  • @niuchemist unless he was surrounding by what, 50 US servicemen with his cover being blown. he was sh*ttin his pants, he couldn't remember dinner time vs supper time.

  • @CC41DZ Educated guess.

  • You've got to wonder who's tag Harry really pulled...

  • @Moogaar1 LOL i know, drives ya crazy, don't it ?

  • 5:49

If I were Sefton I'd want to knock out some of Duke's goddamn teeth or break his nose.

Then again, he probably ended up having guys like Duke working for him while he got stinking rich during the postwar boom.

  • 3:11 best slap ever

  • Comment removed

  • The guy playing Price is 'Captain Over' from the Airplane movies!!

  • This is one of my favorite movies! Me and my dad watched this all the time.

  • somebody upload columbo !

  • Love this movie.

  • "The Germans KNOW where Dunbar is." Best line in the movie.

  • Animal was the best character there IMO

  • He was nominated fora an Oscar.

  • I could picture Keven Spacey doing Holdens part if a remake was made. Picture Spacey doind this speech about "Hoffie" being a spy

  • Remake??? Why? How could a remake be any better than the original? This movie is just about perfect, especially the casting.

  • Oh I totally agree....but Hollywood is always making "re-makes" and for some reason I could just picture "spacey" delivering those lines

  • @jonlga Agreed!!

  • @jonlga If there was a remake....I would vote hands down for Keven Spacey doing Bill Holdens part

  • @inkey2 I always thought that too. I bet Spacey problably learned some of his acting style from watching William Holden in Stalag 17.

  • R.I.P. Peter Graves

  • @JCVH60 poor joey

  • 8:21 Reminds me of Snake.

  • It's incomplete.
