I understand now after watching several videos that Jason Vieaux is the future of the classical guitar, hell he is already one of the best! bravo, you are out there with the greats, keep up the good work, that is making beautiful music out of that gernot wagner guitar!
@DCTheGuitarist 20 years? I know he is well known among guitarists and his recordings with naxos are ground breaking. I was saying "future of classical guitar" in the sense of way of playing, like Bream, Williams, Barrueco were (and still are by the way) for classical guitar, landmarks for another level of playing.
His first recording was done in 1993 so more like 18, but I totally agree he‘s the future, particualry when you compare his early recordings to now he’s come on a lot. That says he has always been an exceptional player and alone with Marcin Dylla, Marco Tamayo, Goran Krivokapic and Lukasz Kuropaczewski become the next generation of main concert performers on the guitar.
I have a lot of respect for artists and engineers who use a minimalist signal path and natural reverb like this. This is a great set of videos. They offer some rare insight into the processes, mindset and heart of this great artist.
@guitarwizard6 From what I understand about professional recordings of classical guitar, they use two unidirectional mics to create a focal point about a foot or two in front of the guitar
@GyveTurckee That's OK...I'm a big grown-up who can read music and everything! :-) (In fact, I play a lot of Bach.) I used to be a recording engineer, so I'm interested in the equipment--I can't quite make out the brand of mics.

Jason, you make too much noise with your left hand. It detracts from the beauty of the music....

@guitarwizard6 Sorry I mistook you as the kind of person who watches a video like this and asks, "Can I get the tabs for this?"
