I knew this Brazilian who stayed in Korea for a year. He was on the train station or something & kept getting looks from these 2 cute little girls. They asked him where he was from & then he told them "I'm from Brazil." Then the two girls were like "BUT THIS IS KOREA!" As if he was lost or something. So funny.
I love trying to speak English with random kids in Japan. They're always quick with "hello," but I love the panicked expressions they get when I ask "How are you?" It's something they've all learned, but they often draw a blank in that moment. Adorable.
I am not bothered by little kids who stare because it happens in the U.S and some speak and some just stare but when adults stare and say nothing then it becomes creepy.
kids in China had a fun time pointing and commenting at me when i was over there..."oh look, its a big-nose, hairy, wild laowai"....they were cute and meant it in fun, so it was always amusing, no offense taken. i even liked to go over and give the kids a coin or something...just to show them laowais don't mean them any harm...
So kids STILL look at people? I must be the case when you're outside of Tokyo, ね。People are friendlier outside of Tokyo. That's why I like the REAL Japan outside of Tokyo.
I just have an off topic question real quick. isn't it considerd bad to like anime in japan?

I always drew a crowd of kids in small villages in Korea. They all called me "Ko Bo" which is big nose in Korean.
