i have iphone 3g runing on ios 4.0.1 it even doesnot find any hotspot or wifi signal when everybody else is using wifi .my wifif was working fine when i newly jailbroke it to 4.0 but after then it stop working i dont know what the problem is plz help me my base band is 5.13.04 i have watched many videos but still no result
well you see at my school, my iPhone worked on wifi cuz my school has internet. but at home i have a d-link router and it didn't work : ( would you know why?
Hey man, I had this problem. Try re- newing the lease. Just pressing the blue arrow next to the name of the wifi network and scroll till u see renew lease
I actually don't think it's the iPhone cause for the wifi not work. I suggest going back to your friends house and trying to connect it there. If it does not connect you'll know for a fact that the iPhone is the problem.
Another way would be to connect your iPhone to your laptop and go to iTunes and restore the iPhone to it's original settings, then try connecting to the Internet.
If that doesn't work then just go to the apple store and replace it.

Basicly the main problem is baseband checksum,if u update the phone via itunes it will restore the whole correct or good checksum.but if u instal a custom software therefore ur reversing the hex or the hash checksum.i believe there is no solution yet to fix this at this moment
I have the exact same problem. I found a "solution" If I slow down my router to use 802.11B only, the Iphone gets a stable connection. So in my case it seems to be a problem with 802.11G-connectivity. Give it a try. No a satisfactory "solution" since you can't change the speed of networks outside your control.
i had the same problem, had to re jailbreak again but this time before installing ultrasn0w you need to go on airplane mode so that the phone is off while its writing the program.
The quick test for me was to uninstall ultrasn0w then the wifi turns on.
hey, i phoned my internet service provider, apple and my phone company to try and help me out, and all of them said its the hardware not the firmware, im getting my iphone replaced with a new one that should be coming in sometime next week.
i got my old router back out and hooked it but and got it working, so unfortunately my super awesome gaming router doesn't emit a wireless signal lol so i have two routers going now :P
its good that it works with your old router but still, you shouldnt have to resort to doing that for a brand new phone. Its definitely a faulty product that isnt keeping up to its standards. Who knows what else could happen with the hardware further down the road...

@SimpleServe i found out it was the router i had, i am not sure exactly why it conflicted, but once i bought a netgear router it worked just fine.

Had this same issue on my iphone 3gs 3.1.2 and i tried resetting the network settings and it worked after the reboot...

I did not have this issue with 3.0, just upgraded to 3.1 and now the WiFi seems totally fudged up.

same problem, tried everything to fix this and nothing works. I suggest waiting for the new 3.1 firmware and if this doesnt fix it, return it.
