stranglehold definitely borrows its style from the max payne series. sure, the designers probably thought it was very original and woo has similar methods to payne gameplay, but the slow-mo style has been owned by max payne .

The thought of difficulty levels did occur to me, but I do refer specifically to THIS Youtube movie, where I left my comment. I am mainly reacting to the apparent sell of of "This is the best game ever" from the developer voice-over, when as mentioned what they show off is barely even a game, but more of a tech demo.

There's no real AI since the enemies seem to just run straight towards the player, stand there in plain view, or even run right past you like at 4:05 in this video.

The player takes huge amounts of damage with no penalty, only getting to "better get some health" after catching three or four rockets in the bellybutton.

Finally: Max. Payne.

It seems like an on-par John Woo blast-em-up movie, but with the added inconvenience of needing to mash buttons to keep it going.
