When will your album be available on 8-track tape? It saddens me greatly that the  record has soared to eminence- all the while arrogantly laughing at the humble 8-track below. I don't know though, it's possible that the record felt threatened by the 8-track, and was merely a victim of circumstance and taking it out on the wrong musical device...perhaps feeling abandoned like most in this disposable culture of ours.

actually musically fiberglass baby sounds like his video Aliens.. it's the rest of the songs that are really, really experimental.. but the sounds are really good quality... and like so texturally rich that you would want to touch the notes... they sound amazing when you turn the volume all the way up.. Tom, I have a record player and all of the new records I buy are bad quality. I've bought a Jack Johnson on Vinyl and it skipped without any scratches or anything.

Check the tracking force and anti-skating adjustments, if your player has them.

(I have a Sony instruction sheet for doing this - will scan it if anyone needs it).

PS. Records made after 1978 don't sound as good, due to the introduction of digital "cutting delays" in the mastering chain.
