you could tell the difference on how they look from season 1 episode 1 and episode 2. episode 1 elena looks differentt, stefan looked a bit chubbier and the lighting was more bright. second episode onwards, elena looks like how she does now, stefan lost weight and hotter and now the picture is more dark ..it goes with the vampire theme ofc.
