  • I really love this. i once sang in a concert choir that had a very similar sound. Brings tears to my eyes. i plan on singing this very soon.

  • beautiful

  • this song sounds the best arranged like this in my opinion.this a beautifully done i wish it was a tad bit bit faster

  • Our college choir sang this in '96, and hearing it again just brings back so many memories...Beautiful job!

  • My high school chorus is doing this song in a few days for a hospice service, and we're doing it for graduation. We don't shound half this good...

  • This is my favorite version of the song... This group, I mean has the best 1 on Youtube in my opinion... I love the way they took the breaks at the "upon your fields;... we meet again; rest rest May the God"...

  • SOPRANOS KIK YO BUTT

  • we did this arrangement just a little bit faster i abs.love this song

    ALTOS :)

  • I second this :3

  • Who is the composer of this version? I've been looking for it for monthes. i would greatly appreciate it if you would let me know!

  • me too

  • Joyce Eilers Bacak

  • This arrangement was composed by the wonderful Joyce Eilers-Bacak...She also did a reeeely good version of "Song of Ruth" Sadly though, she dided this June... I was very sad to find out...I'll never sing this the same way again, because though I never met her, it felt like I had...

  • The muzik is good, but idea is only tales for peaple 2000 year.Jaroslav

  • i'm singing this in my choir for the spring concert! it's my favorite one we are singing. so beautiful.

  • Anyone know who composed this?

  • It is composed by Joyce Eilers Bacak.

I played the version for brass band arranged by Stephen Bradnum. It's Thrilling beautiful!

  • We do a brass band version of this, and it's my favourite piece to play ever. it starts as a quartet, for the first 16 bars, then swells, then dies away again. Well sung, I got chills.

  • I;ve never heard this done at such a slow tempo, not sure if I like it better or worse..

    but great job :)

  • This is the only way to perform this song, slowly. If you don't, then some of the chords won't get a chance to settle and be heard. Also, if you do like a fermata at the "upon your fields" and then again at the "We meet a gain..." just before the "may the God," then you have a lovely piece. Takes a lot of breath support thoug.

  • This is verrrry slow. But it's beautiful.

We did this with our chamber choir at a memorial service for one of our students. Most of us were crying though, so I'm not sure how good it sounded.
