Okay, I wrote and recorded Happy Go Lucky Me and had the hit in the States. But ol' George beat me out n the UK. I believe it was his last release before he passed away.
People moan about the recession now, but I remember the dark days of Xmas fighting the Red Army at Stalingrad in 1942.
We were encircled by a ruthless enemy, cursing our fate & praying to be flown out on one of the few serviceable planes left. Each day we watched our comrades die of cold or snipers bullet, knowing the same fate awaited us all.
On Xmas Day itself we received a tiny extra amount of food, though had to listen to the Russians’ megaphone taunts about digging our own graves.
@SuperTruth77 .. Lol...Well I suppose the saying says 'if you are going to tell a lie, then tell a big one'. You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but buddy, you can't fool all of the people all of the time.....have a happy Christmas in whichever trench you are spending this Christmas in.....P.S. Your profile says you are 42 years old.
The man would be making better music than the shite this country thinks is music today! Man...no wonder my mum always tells me I sound like an old man >.<
Hi and thanks for letting me see this advert. I am one of the two writers of "Happy Go Lucky Me". I had the recorded hit in the States and G. Formby had the hit in the UK.
It won't make me a fortune, but it was fun for me to see and to hear the Formby recording again.
PS I have a a Christmas video posted that's picking up a LOT of views. If you like, try ........ youtube.com/watch?v=557tQC86thA

Goes to show how important it is to get the music right on an advert, makes it memorable and you look forward to seeing it again.
