Fantastic! I would have LOVED to have had a professor like Kreeft when I was in college. He actually seems to apply aesthetic principals to his lectures because they are beautiful. And I don't think anyone should argue with an atheist if they think it's a waste of time, but I think it's a good exercise even if the chances of having an impact with them are slim to none. Let's just say for me, it's an exercise in hope.
Yes, a very sensible approach. I was really meaning that if an Atheist tried to debate with me, I would take him up on it. And yes, if people aren't open to spiritual things, they won't see them. Our will has to be to do the will of God.
Ahh good very good points Davo - But, since faith goes beyond reason - I choose not to engage atheists and the like - since they choose not to recognize abstract form. If you want to argue with these people - so be it. For me, I feel it is their responsibility to do their own research into Spiritual realms.
He says that if the terms are clear, the propositions true, and the argument free of logical fallacy--then the conclusion must be true. If we Theists are found wanting in any one of these areas, we must take full responsibility. Faith goes beyond Reason, but cannot contradict it (since both are made by God.) Very worthwhile study. ; )
Hey Allo, thanks for responding to my post. Although I don't think it's quite so clear cut with Faith and Reason. Yes, it goes beyond rationality, but Peter Kreeft also speaks about Reason being a powerful tool of persuasion (if not conviction).
Davo - Brown is another skeptic who hasn't tried Faith - therefore only can speak against it. Faith is a gift of God and BEYOND rationality - You can't be a rational Chrsitian because Faith lies in the realm of the Spiritual not the rational. Also, don't waste time arguing w/ atheists - its a total waste of time.
YES! It is the SPLENDOR of truth that attracts us to it! Nothing is more up my ally, and occupies more of my time than studies of the Good, the True and the Beautiful. And I owe much of this to Peter Kreeft.
This is awesome. Reminds me of the time when I consciously chose to be Christian.
You can't argue with personal experience.
The beauty of love and faith is astounding. Thank you, Mr. Kreeft.

So, if an atheist insists on denying the spiritual - let that be his choice. I am not impressed with such denial nor will I defend or endorse it.

How - as a Christian - can you say such a thing, especially after listening to Kreeft?!

God is not real. As you put it, you must be "mentally deranged".
