This guy needs to be mainstream foreal. F**k wut Gucci mane and Jay-z got to say, neither one of them has rapped nor spoken about anything as real as this!
@JayPeeps08 if hip hop was known for this kinda lyrics theses days, hed be mainstream, rappers such as lil wayne and them have tainted hip hops image, too many people think thats the only kind of hip hop and thats why they like it soo much, i loved mainstream music for years, but my mind was changed when i heard a vinnie paz song, people need to realizethis is what hip hop is about, not money hoes and clothes. peace.
@kennywu2k10 i feel u bro... i know the great ones who are resting in peace are turning in their graves right now. i mean come on, WTF is a wakka flocka flame? i wish Pac could come back and slap the shit out of this knock-off industry they call hip-hop now.
Brother Ali's music is not on the radio because the MAN n goverment do not want his voice to be heard, this is underground. But fortunately there is a movement amoung the youth. A sort of hippie movement, where social gatherings and anti-establishment are main ideals....
You know what's great? I'm sitting here, mad that the Nederlands lost and it's another rainy crappy day and I put this song on and guess what, sun comes out. Twin Cities + Brother Ali = Awesome. Minneapolis has ATL beat any day.
this is straight fire! why is the most soulful artist around not on the damn radio? It make my sick to see them trying to dumb down the masses with that commercial shit
Then, he realized he had built enough to shelter himself from the cold
(his new home, family), but felt sad for the condition of others who were still suffering like he did. Finally, he decides he needs to go back out into the harsh world to soldier and preach on their behalf, in hopes of building a world different than the one supported by those who live in palaces, and feast on the finest of spreads, and the backs of others who have little, or nothing.
Ali is talking about how he was an ignored voice, cast outside because of his differences. He was saved by the loving hands of those who raised him. It gave him the strength to sing so loud that not only his loved ones took notice, but also some of who are amongst the people had cast him out originally.
It could be defintely maybe in the second verse, he could be talking about different time periods that blacks have gone through referring back to slavery then talking about the present
Look...whilst elements of this song might relate to Obama in some way (But for a Brother Ali song about Obama, check out Mr President), this song is almost certainly a parable for Brother Ali himself, used to convey messages about race, but, more importantly, prejudice in general. The 'leper' in the story is clearly supposed to be Ali, as he is white (like the slavemaster) but rejected by the whites, as he often says he was himself.
How can anybody dislike this song?

This song has nothing to do with Obama.
Ali is talking about how he was an ignored voice, cast outside because of his differences. He was saved by the loving hands of those who raised him. It gave him the strength to sing so loud that not only his loved ones took notice, but also some of who are amongst the people had cast him out originally.

@bruceallmighty84 He also happens to be albino, hence different from other whites.
