Definitely try Herbal Essences Set Me Up Hairspray Fixatif n Extra Hold. It's amazing and holds your curl absolutely amazingly without getting crunchy. I also use Aussie Mega Styling Gel Strong Hold. I use the totally twisted mousse and gel to scrunch it, then put it in a giant bun on top of my head. But, it's not a regular bun; you act like you're scrunching, but then you kind of make it into a ball, then spray with hairspray. Then I sleep and when I wake up use the Aussie. And style. Try it!:)

Dude, just get some professional hair styling gel or mousse. You only need to use that one product and it makes a much better scrunch than what you were using. I recommend Curlesque by TIGI CATWALK. It works great and leaves your hair feeling very natural, you can't even tell there is product in. (:
