Thanks for the compliment. I'm currently hoping to be working with a well established US singer within the next 2 months on a short UK tour if all plans go ahead.

I'm also hoping within the next year or so to get some recording equipment and get to work on some demo's, as i can play drums/keys etc too :)

I wouldn't judge another player, the only one I have ever said a negative comment was a bloke teaching slap on here and his technique was all wrong - well for teaching anyway! Thats why I don't teach, I'm purely self taught, so I have many bad habits!

I try to put my own 'stamp' on every song I do, admittedly i sometimes do over play, but Mark King is one of my hero's and its something he is known to do also!

i never to a straight copy of the original, its already been done, I'm not saying the original isn't brilliant, but I like to put a bit of 'me' into my playing :)

Not out playing, might be soon, but currently stuck in my garage playing!

You can play but listen to this song, you're missing key changes that makes this song what it is and you are putting too many note in this peice. I other word bro. you're over thumping this to where as it's almost a mess. I'm not doubting your ability to play but when doing a cover, stick with the song and be what a bass player is supose to be and that is, Smoooooth. Remember this, make love to the song, don't rape it dude!

Hi Jeur18,

yes, I use steel strings, usually 30-90 or 35-95, depends on what I can get.

The active system is pretty good on these, the battery lasts for a long time. There isn't a passive mode on these basses, but thats never bothered me! Status elecs are pretty good, but i do use a behringer bass limiter/enhanser which really lifts the sound, adding more attack.

Sounds good, I do miss some of the rawness of his earlier material, but with tracks like Everlasting Now, Black Sweat you know its still there - live especially! Would love him to do I'm Yours live, would be great with his band he has... His more recent cd's like 3121 and Musicolgy have been great, but I miss the live instruments a bit - are the new cd's more programmed instruments or real drums/bass etc?
