i agree with the fist guy because you can bring them back and the new cartoons would still be bad but if they had tried to do the voice over of this guy they would not sound like him in the first place
I miss the time when kids' cartoon characters were allowed to smoke and drink and shoot guns and laugh about death and be cynical and irrational... Am I a bad person ? :x
They actually called Wild E Coyote literally a "Hardhead Motherfucker" in the "Latin titles" once.... and I once thought Disney was pretty badass for "Sex" in the Lion King...
For me this is the best "DRAW ERA" of BUGS BUNNY... i really didnt like what they do with the character making it more large... they should keep drawning bugs in this way
I can understand why they toned bugs down in later cartoons, it also happened to the Disney characters as well, but I like this original Bugs... he was pretty badass...
Sometimes I wonder if they animated Bugs as if carrots were actually his "Cigars" because that's how he seems to hold and treat them.
p.s. I grew up on the newer bugs bunny...around the time 'Bugs Bunny & Road Runner Show 'came out...I appreciate this but the later bugs that was less 'zanny' was my favorite!
Bring Bugs back? And just why would we want to do that? The inimitable Mel Blanc is long dead. The newer cartoons featuring someone else's voice suck. And with today's silly damned "politically correct" climate (may it die in a fire!) they could not feature half the action they used to (simulated violence, etc.) No, let's enjoy the old cartoons and keep them preserved.
@Paddydhistorian the original reason i made this account was an attempt to get them to place the old Cartoons on Air. I had no idea they was gonna remake looney tune series. But i am still happy they did because a few of them remind me of the oldies, but I gotta admit the old version of Bugs bunny is better.
@BringBugsBack Ah yes, indeed! It would be nice to see the old ones back on the air. I think they would garner a new and appreciative audience. Failing that, however, reissuing them on DVD would find a ready market. Those who upload them on YouTube are doing a great service to all of us and I for one am grateful.
@Paddydhistorian Yep, Mel is long gone, so is Arthur Q. Bryan, and no one, not the animators, writers or producers understand slapstick anymore. That's why the gag cartoons are so lame nowadays.
@Paddydhistorian I agree and disagree with this. Agreed because without Mel Blanc, it's obviously not going to be the same when making new LT shorts, look at the shorts from the early 2000s/even late 90s, pretty lackluster for the most part ain't they? However, I disagree with the 'PC' climate preventing the violence overall (unless you're referencing the TLTS, but that's tv, a breeding ground for PC), look at the new LT shorts made within the past year......
@Paddydhistorian .......Search up Daffy's Rhapsody clip on youtube to see what I mean, and yes it may be in CGI, but you'll be pleasantly surprised, trust me.....Then again, this does use original Mel Blanc recordings, so..
Ah how do i make VCR, Beta, and reels into digital copies? i have alot of vintage cartoons that icollected such as the original littlest pet shop (I think i have the very original though they are talking animals and micro versions of big animals... there a big lizard), Betty boop, etc....
Also do i need to buy special equipments or something?
I love the sound that you hear from the quality of the cameras back then when it's super quiet. It used to always calm me down as a kid. It's like the soft crackling of fire. You hear it immediately when the episode starts at 0:17.
7:45 YouTube video: The Wild Hare, 1940; very first Bugs Bunny cartoon.
February 26, 1908: birth of Tex Avery in Taylor, Texas; American cartoonist (d. 1980); created the characters of Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Droopy, and developed Porky Pig and Chilly Willy into the personas for which they are remembered.

Bugs Bunny. My favorite cartoon character, and not a Puka either.

This was the original Bugs bunny cartoon... although this is actually the reissue "Blue Ribbon" version of it.

@colliric Porky's Hare Hunt was the first appearance of Bugs Bunny. He looked and sounded nothing like the bugs we all love but it was still Bugs.
