To add to TheVVhiteLotus's comment, Navi doesn't have a short a sound, it's more like... Naw-vee instead of Nah-vee (because it's a Japanese game and that's how it would be pronounced in Japanese).

I always thought that the things from Zelda were pronounced Japanese-ish, where each consonant and vowel are given one syllable.

So instead of Deku being read as "Deck-oo" I hear it as "Deh-koo". Also Kokiri for me is "Ko-kee-ree", not "Ko-ker-ee". Is this just me?

@TheVVhiteLotus No no. You're exactly right. (Hal pronouced it wrong in this video, but we let it slide since he's never played Ocarina of Time before) Deh-koo and Ko-kee-ree are how I pronounce them (usually).
