this movie was amazing. but has alot of moral let downs :( just as you were rooting for a new character they die. But that executionar guy look amazing but he enters the movie randomly lol. and claire redfield... man what a fucking hottie
The other RE movies were not very good, except for Degeneration, that one was decent. They need to reboot this and atleast loosly follow the video games, and the cast does not fit at all. Whats the point of making a videogame into a movie if you are going to completely ignore the games storyline and just use character names for random people.
Kool movie. Saw it in 3D. Beginning was slow but it gets much better. One scene this movie will be remembered for is the bathroom scene with Clare and Alice. You'll know it when you see it. Also, its weird that their using A Perfect Circle song that is well over 5 years old .Good fucking song though. Go see this movie ok?
WHere the hell is Jill, after the 2nd Resident Evil movie, she was just gone, off the the movies and they didnt even clear up in the movies what happened to her, disappointing :(
@oZGameCommunity they explain in afterlife were she was and what happened to her after apocalypse. You'd be most of all pleasantly surprised cause it has to do with a certain place we know from the games. :)

@mikepyro713 if you watched all the movies you will see that there is indeed continuity. Alice got these powers in the second movie when umbrella experimented with her and nemesis. In extinction they are trying to reproduce her because they can't get ahold of the "original", in afterlife it continues with and without powers.
jk. it just seems like each RE movie is spliced together with random new characters, settings, monsters, to the point that they are related but they don't really feel like it to me.
@mikepyro713 The games took place in the USA, Europe & Afrika too so its not farfetched that the movies are following the same pattern. Honestly I would had loved it if the movies would had taken place between the games but the way they are are ok for me too so I enjoy them for what they are. :) RE the beginnings, RE2 the end of raccoon, Extinction 5 years later, afterlife directly were extinction ended.Flashbacks are included in afterlife btw so be ready for some good surprises. :)
@mikepyro713 well in my opinion this is a movie that one has to watch at the movies and in 3D cause I'm quite sure that such movies are losing quite some charm in DVD (thought final destination 4 was ok in 3D DVD at home ^_^). If not for the story or others things, at least because of the FX and the sets/feeling on the big screen. :)

O_o If you didn't and will watch the movie, you will see that I'm right by saying that Shawn is really Wesker.He doesn't come over as wesker in the clips we saw so far but in the movie you will definately accept him as wesker as also wentworth as Chris(actingwise).There are some new pictures on the net that shows that he is fitting in that role lookwise unlike the clips

@HonorableTheft There were 3 movies and all are connected with each other. The third however goes 5 year after apocalypse while afterlife continues were the third movie has left us. The movies are more like RE4 and RE5 instead of the earlier games thats true, however, this doesn't makes them bad in my opinion.

@HonorableTheft there was also a cool scene in RE 3 in which all of sudden zombie arms popped out of the wall or the nemesis scenes when he all of sudden breaked through a wall attacking you. ^_^ Cool moments and more action based then the previous stuff. Capcom started leaning towards more action in RE3 already through the decisions system & the nemesis hunting you. They expanded this on RE4 and RE5 making the games more action based then before. The movies are a mix of everything instead.
@Rubyred1025 the suspension thing happened in RE Apocalypse. In afterlife we will get flashbacks on what happened to her after and find out more. They also never said she killed Leon but that she got suspended after they were together in a mission in which he got "killed". If he is really dead or not is yet to be found out. ;)

@Balladblack In case you still didn't noticed yet, the movies have their own storylines. Essential parts of RE like Characters, Enemies, Organizations, the virus are there. Only because they didn't go for 100% of everything so we all know exactly what happens the whole time and get bored to death, it doesn't mean that they butchered the RE universe. If that would had been, the case then capcom would had interefered instead of approving this & the movies wouldn't had been successfull.
Remember when Zombies were the bad guys? This looks more Like a Matrix style Action/Sci-FI and less like a Zombie Horror. In fact, I can probably count the zombies I saw these past 2m on one hand, and what's with everything being in 3D? Big push to popularize these crap 3D TVs they invested millions of R&D into? Obviously. 3D sucks. For me, This will wait till Red Box.
@TrustkillProductionz If you play the games, namely RE4 and RE5 you would see that Umbrella did create a more controlled version of the virus based on the Las Plagas virus, the T-Virus and the G-Virus that turned people into super humans. Thats where they are getting their ideas from. But all in all the Resident Evil movies would be better if they actually followed the story line of the games which is quite good.
@ElitePraetorianGuard im a big fan of the game trust me ive been a fan since resident evil 2 but making the movies like the game would be totally gay. Everyone who has played the game would already know what happens.
@TrustkillProductionz if you don't watch this in 3D you will miss the best 3D movie ever created so far. It wasn't converted like some other movies in 3D, it was fully shot in 3D like avatar with the same system like it and it even beats avatar on that point. Scenes like that in slow motion were there before matrix even existed so its not "matrix style". Some scenes have to be in slow motion so one can view all the details and feel the action that would otherwise get lost in a fast pace. :)
@ZombieXmuffin Yep! ^_^ Chris, Wesker, Claire, Jill, Alice, The Executioner, Zombies, Uroborors are in it. Keep your eyes peeled at around the end of the 132 minutes and you will see another familiar person. *hint* His name starts with L. ;)
@jnr095 people that played the games will notice him and understand who he is, people that don't know the games and their characters won't recognize him. Most of all since he doesn't get really introduced by rather makes a cameo appearance.
@jnr095 they never showed him dying, nor was it confirmed anywhere. It was just a piece of paper so to say that had a text saying that he was killed in a mission when jill was with him as its partner. Watch closely at around the end of afterlife for a cameo appearance. ;) He doesn't get named but you will definately recognize him by his looks. :) Paul Anderson said that Leon is his favorite character and if he makes another RE movie he will bring him in anyway.
@jnr095 wasn't a trailer, I know someone that already watched the prerelease premiere that told me that he appears at the end thats all. :) They obviously added him only as a "teaser" thats why I called it a cameo appearance. They don't name the character but you can see its him by the looks of his. :)

@jnr095 it wasn't after the credits, it should had been one of the persons that evacuated the survivors in the heli. :o Anyway, I will watch it next wendsday in the premiere here and germany and check aswell. ^_^
This looks soo good I like how it has actual parts from the games.
But how it started was orginally the T-Virus which became airborne in a city called Raccoon City by an accidental secret viral experiment from Umbrella. Later, William, created the G-Virus which is a more mutant verison of the T-virus. He injected it into himself and while H.U.N.K's partner tried to escape after he recieved the g virus William attacked him,he drop it & the rats in the sewer drank the sample and it spread again
@xmanickc Well what I know is that some zombies were created to be a sort of super soldier which were the natural intentions by scientists of a corporation known as Umbrella. Instead they got the zombies which somehow were released and got around infecting others with a virus they had known as the T-virus. So no it didn't all start with a random person. More like a group of persons. But this I get from the game, because thats what happened in Resident Evil 2. In the movie idk how it happenedXD
These movies could have been great. This entire series is just a bastardized watered down version of a video game series that had so much promise. I've never met any actual fans of the games that have liked this crap. And, if there are fans of the games that like this series, can you please explain why?
@gpdarkness86 i agree.... these movies broke my heart. i didnt excpect it to be like the game precisely to the letter, but i wish there were some relevance... :/they shouldve named this movie ZOMBIE. so much promise.... no excuse for ruining it! I am a huge resident evil fan. i have currently all the resident evil games available on home consoles and portable game systems... idk. its just not right..

I hope this doesnt turn out to be all special effects and no storyline originality like a lot of movies have been... effects look awesome, and im a diehard RE fan. Seeing this midnight showing for sure.
Still an overall shitty story but looks like they are taking the route of the games(particularly monster design, obviously) and going with ton's of eye candy and design.
It's not like the game series has been trying to have any substance recently either. ("Thanks Partn**" "STFU" )

there's no continuity at all in these movies. suddenly they're super super heroes and ripping off every scene from RE 4 and RE 5?

3D is ok when its not a gimmick.
How to Train your Dragon and Pixar Movies use it subtly
and it'd be ok but RE takes itself too seriously to use 3d in a silly fun way like Pirahna 3D or Bloody Valentine.
still if my friends who see it like it or it gets good reviews I'll see it.
but I did enjoy the 3rd. I'll just see how much moneys I have after this.
Don't see how anything can top Machete for pure fun this year. lol.

@HonorableTheft There were 3 movies and all are connected with each other. The third however goes 5 year after apocalypse while afterlife continues were the third movie has left us. The movies are more like RE4 and RE5 instead of the earlier games thats true, however, this doesn't makes them bad in my opinion.

@HonorableTheft there was also a cool scene in RE 3 in which all of sudden zombie arms popped out of the wall or the nemesis scenes when he all of sudden breaked through a wall attacking you. ^_^ Cool moments and more action based then the previous stuff. Capcom started leaning towards more action in RE3 already through the decisions system & the nemesis hunting you. They expanded this on RE4 and RE5 making the games more action based then before. The movies are a mix of everything instead.

@Rubyred1025 the suspension thing happened in RE Apocalypse. In afterlife we will get flashbacks on what happened to her after and find out more. They also never said she killed Leon but that she got suspended after they were together in a mission in which he got "killed". If he is really dead or not is yet to be found out. ;)

@Balladblack In case you still didn't noticed yet, the movies have their own storylines. Essential parts of RE like Characters, Enemies, Organizations, the virus are there. Only because they didn't go for 100% of everything so we all know exactly what happens the whole time and get bored to death, it doesn't mean that they butchered the RE universe. If that would had been, the case then capcom would had interefered instead of approving this & the movies wouldn't had been successfull.

@TrustkillProductionz If you play the games, namely RE4 and RE5 you would see that Umbrella did create a more controlled version of the virus based on the Las Plagas virus, the T-Virus and the G-Virus that turned people into super humans. Thats where they are getting their ideas from. But all in all the Resident Evil movies would be better if they actually followed the story line of the games which is quite good.

@TrustkillProductionz if you don't watch this in 3D you will miss the best 3D movie ever created so far. It wasn't converted like some other movies in 3D, it was fully shot in 3D like avatar with the same system like it and it even beats avatar on that point. Scenes like that in slow motion were there before matrix even existed so its not "matrix style". Some scenes have to be in slow motion so one can view all the details and feel the action that would otherwise get lost in a fast pace. :)

It was just a piece of paper so to say that had a text saying that he was killed in a mission when jill was with him as its partner. Watch closely at around the end of afterlife for a cameo appearance. ;) He doesn't get named but you will definately recognize him by his looks. :) Paul Anderson said that Leon is his favorite character and if he makes another RE movie he will bring him in anyway.

But how it started was orginally the T-Virus which became airborne in a city called Raccoon City by an accidental secret viral experiment from Umbrella. Later, William, created the G-Virus which is a more mutant verison of the T-virus. He injected it into himself and while H.U.N.K's partner tried to escape after he recieved the g virus William attacked him,he drop it & the rats in the sewer drank the sample and it spread again
