Cerazeta, Egypt nearly lost it's entire third army by the end of the war (from wikipedia, with multiple sources), the only thing that saved it was international pressure. And Israel only gave the Sinai back because it is not strategic (in fact, it was a liability), has no water and can be easily monitored via spy satellite. Notice how Israel didn't give back the Golan, and never will. And BTW, Israel already had nukes in 1973, and they were ready just in case.
