Mainstream is just a term used to describe what is popular......so if people didn't like what Green Day was putting out right now they wouldn't be mainstream. this band is beyond AWESOME!!! i saw them @ reggies place for my friends b-day..Best day ever...no lie. they are hilarious and know how to get a crowd going. i tell everyone about them. and now when my parents say,"i wish you would listen to some black artist instead of all this punk rock," now i can say,"I AM.ITS WHOLE WHEAT FUCKING BREAD!!!!!!"XD

You know who isn't a punk band, my little haters? Green Day. They might have been when they first started out, and a bad one at that, but still; there's different kinds of punk, different styles. Some just aren't for others.
You've got to admit, though, that even this song, while not their most punk, is still a bit more punk than Green Day is now. A whole helluva bit. Green Day is mainstream poseur now and nothing but.

Bands don't make themselves mainstream....fans do. Mainstream is just a term used to describe what is popular......so if people didn't like what Green Day was putting out right now they wouldn't be mainstream. The music is powerful and meaningful and very anti-government and anti-war...I don't understand what's not punk about that. If punk has become something that's defined simply by lack of popularity and not by passion or the message then who the fuck wants to be punk?
